| Prefight instructions/staredown
Am I the only one who can't stand the pre fight intstructions in the cage? What exactly is the point because it's not like the ref is telling the fighters anything new. Also, the staredown doesn't do anything for me as it's not like anybody is going to be intimidated.

They only do that for main-event fights. The whole point is to add to the drama and build-up of the whole thing. We all know that the fighters aren't being told anything they don't already know, but who doesn't love a good staredown, especially when it involves either Wanderlei or Rampage?

Actually, I'd like to see fighters weigh before they step into the cage so we can see at what weight they are actually fighting at. | i've always thought the same thing but then i start to wonder about what would happen on a forum like mmanews when a particular fighter comes in much lighter than their opponent, and loses? i can only imagine the banter/arguments that would follow.
it would be cool to see the weights just b4 stepping in the cage tho.

And yeah, knowing the actual fighting weights would be interesting. You know Sherk has to weight around 170 for his LW fights.

I think they re-cap the rules just for the average fan who might not know all the rules doesn't bother me too much.
But i am deffinatly a fan of the staredown!! I think you can get a rough guess on where the fighters are at mentally with the staredown, good example is GSP/Hughes 1- watch it again GSP doesnt look at hughes once in the staredown, but GSP/Hughes 2 GSP looks him straight in the eyes and accually winks at him, im deffinatly a fan of the staredown
Good idea about weighing in before they step into the cage too!! TBH i never thought about it before but it deffinatly has its advantages, we would get a better look at who cuts how much weight, I myself wanna know how much Forrest,GSP,Sherk, and Chuck fight at

I like the Pre-fight Staredown, just 2 c where they r mentally, Example: Chuck vs. Wandy staredown in the ring, Chuck looked so Focused & the staredown was great.

I love the staredowns, especially wand's. Also don't forget the Don Frye/James Thompson one!
