| What happens if?
First off I know alot of you guys are going to say there is no way its happening but it is a fight and crazy things can happen. So what happens if Shammy pulls off the huge upset and beats Tito somehow. What would Dana's plan C. be? Who would get the title shot in Dec? Would Shammy really retire or would he think this meant he could compete again?(Dunno if he will really retire either way) Also where would Tito go from there? Maybe a Sobral fight the he could very well lose. I wonder if the "guarenteed title shot" in his contact was voided after taking this as a third fight instead? If not i dont see how they could put him in with Chuck right after such a big upset loss to Shammy. Anyways just thinking atlittle what if?

This fight against Shamrock is just a money fight for him, and other than being embarrassing, I don't think it matters.
As for Shamrock, I would hope he retires. Leave with a win and something you can hang your hat on. Reality is, he will lose and probably try to fight again just so he will not go out with a loss. More tarnish on a very impressive career.

I could be wrong so dont hold it against me if i am , but i do believe the contract was a three fight contract with the third fight being a guarented title shot.

I just read this article from www.mmaweekly.com Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck "Iceman" Liddell appeared on MMAWeekly SoundOff Radio this week where he discussed his UFC 63 victory over Renato "Babalu" Sobral amongst other topics.
Liddell told MMAWeekly that his next opponent will most likely be "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Tito Ortiz provided Ortiz gets past Ken Shamrock on October 10th.
Liddell has been pushing hard to get a fight with Wanderlei Silva, and the deal seemed to be close to happening, but fell through recently. Liddell said he felt as if Pride used the in-Octagon announcement as a promotional tool with no real intention of actually putting the fight together. "They pulled out," Liddell explained. He stated that he doesn’t think it has anything to do with Wanderlei Silva, but with the Pride organization.
Besides a rematch with Ortiz and a fight with Wanderlei Silva, Chuck indicated that he would like to fight Quinton Jackson again. Jackson defeated Liddell in the Pride Middleweight Grand Prix in 2003, and Liddell wants to avenge that loss. The UFC Light Heavyweight Champion said "Rampage" signed with World Fighting Alliance (WFA) to avoid fighting him.
Questioned whether he would consider moving up to the heavyweight division, Liddell didn’t rule out the possibility. "I’ll fight anyone," he proclaimed.
When the 36-year-old was asked how much longer he thinks he’ll be competing in mixed martial arts, Liddell replied, "I’m taking that one day at a time." Although Liddell gets a little bit older every day, he assured MMAWeekly he has no plans of hanging the gloves up anytime soon.
Chuck says Tito will be his next opponent provided that he gets past Ken Shamrock.

| why not...
Shamrock will need a miracle to beat Tito, but if he does I say, why not give the old guy one last shot at the title. I don't see any of this happening but if it does, fuck it, give him one last night in the spotlight. Chuck wouldn't mind having a Shamrock knockout on his highlight reel anyway, and I wouldn't mind seeing it either. |

It would be hard for a Shamrock v Chuck fight to be any shorter than the Babalu knockout. They'd have to stack the card with some other good fights to get my $40 though.

I like Liddell, but he's delusional if he thinks Rampage is ducking him. Rampage is a soldier for hire, whomever offers him the best deal gets his services. I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all, as in the fight game your career could end any second, so making the most money as quick as possible is smart... But I digress, I honestly don't see Rampage ducking him.
