I also couldn't have more respect for Royce. I was hoping for a good long battle with Hughes. I don't know what's in Royce's head, but if he isn't realistic about needing to be well-rounded in todays game....then I would rather not see him fight again.

I honestly believe Royce just had a bad night. I think Hughes had a bad night in that first fight with Penn. I would like to see penn win the again next time but my brain tells me it wont happen. In another fight with hughes, Royce will not be stopped so fast, he's been in too many fights against extremely good fighters to let that happen again. I think an in prime Saku would beat hughes and Royce fought that man for 1 hour in change before he couldn't fight anymore.

Rickson Gracie is like 50+ years old and he went on like an 11 win streak and is undefeated in MMA, not to mention other tournaments.

I never said Shamrock was better then Royce. I was saying that if Royce still thinks he can hang with the best in the world today then he'll end up ala Shamrock, getting beaten badly. He didn't have a bad night, he was overwhelmed and outmatched against a dominate Matt Hughes, and I'd expect the same for a rematch or a fight against any other good welterweight.

Rickson is one of the greatest fighters EVER bro he doesnt need to fight anyone UFC level, his name is up there with some of the greatest martial artists in the world

You're not understanding what I'm saying....

I've not seen Rickson fight, and he probably is what you say he is, but the UFC and MMA as a whole is a totally different world then what it was when Royce was dominating. Could you honestly say Royce could be champion again and beat guys like Hughes and Penn?

I am not gonna side with Laimon on this, Royce doesnt have to retire yet.

Your talking about Royce who went 7 or 8 rounds with Saku. I think Royce might beat many WW in UFC because Royce has cross trained in striking, and wrestling. The Hughes fight was just a bad night thats all. I mean come on, Saku, Yoshida, not bad fighters at all.

I just can't seem him finishing out his career in the UFC fighting nothing opponents.
