Default Royce Gracie

Ok for example the ROYCE GRACIE/HUGHES fight.. People act liek ROYCE just got taken from within an inch of his life in that fight and doesnt deserve to ever fight again BUT what do that say about the HUGHES/PENN fight or the CHUCK/RAMPAGE fight that ended much faster and much more dominantly...

WHY wasnt CHUCKS career over and he was over the hill when he got dominated? How about hughes Why was the penn loss a FLUKE??

Im just saying in general people didnt give ROYCE much respect after that fight and he put on a longer fight against hughes then lets say KEN SHAMROCK would manage...

Oh and dont let me get into the SAKU Royce fight...

Give royce some credit..

Hrm...

I respect all he has accomplished, and respect his legacy.

However, I find it hard to respect his recent record (1 victory in six years over a 0-3 fighter), and even harder to respect his recent interview that consisted mainly of arrogant insanity.

In a nutshell, I'd like for him to hang up his gloves in order to preserve his peerless legacy (which has my full respect), rather than follow in Ken's footsteps (which would make me sad).

git.

HOW WAS CHUCK OVER THE HILL, UMM HES THE UFC LHW CHAMP.. THAT DOESNT CONSIST OF OVER THE HILL TO ME... AND HOW DID ROYCE VS HUGHES LAST LONGER THAN RAMPAGE AND CHUCK... THAT WENT TO THE SECOND ROUND AND IN PRIDE THE FIRST ROUND IS 10 MIN... ROYCE HUGHES ENDED IN LIKE 4 MIN AND 30 SECONDS.. AND TO SAY RAMPAGE BEAT CHUCK MORE DOMINATINGLY IS DUMB... HUGHES POUNDED ROYCE AND ROYCE COULD DO NOTHING, CHUCK AT LEAST ROCKED RAMPAGE IN THE FIGHT AND WAS ABLE TO TRADE WITH HIM...

AND NO SAKU DIDNT TAP!!! YOU THINK THE GRACIES WOULD HAVE JUST SAT THERE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MAYHEM!!!

He wasn't saying Chuck was over the hill he was using it as an analogy that he wasn't over the hil as if to say that neither is Royce.Royce/Hughes was closer than some people act.I had Royce winning the fight with his leg kicks untill Hughes took him down.

Yes, I couldn't agree more.

Most people thought that fight was 'very very very very not close', where as in fact it was only 'very very very not close'.

You can except that Royce took a pounding or what?

It happens. The sport has come a long way since the days where he dominated, I couldn't see him being anything more then another Ken Shamrock if he keeps fighting.

He'll always be a legend and a guy who helped start it all, but it's a different world now.

Royce > Ken Shamrock

why? because Ken Shamrocks style of fighting doesnt go well with his age and condition, Royce's does

Rickson Gracie is like 50+ years old and he went on like an 11 win streak and is undefeated in MMA, not to mention other tournaments.
