| Which is more unbearably boring?
A lay and pray session for 15 minutes of barely any action at all (Franca vs Sherk), or a standup contest where no one lands anything of significance nor try's to land anything (Sanches vs Koscheck)?
And reasons why?

And reasons why? | Stand-and-dance. At least when there's a lay and pray session going on, the ref stands them back up, and we get the action (albeit brief) of someone scoring another takedown.
I remember watching Gonzaga/Jordan and the first round of Eastman/Lutter, and just screaming repeatedly at my television, "REALLY? REALLY?!?!"

I also choose the stand and dance. I don't mind a lay and pray session as long as the ref stands them up when he should. At least there is some action with the guy trying to keep mount/control, and the bottom guy is always trying to get up or frustrate the guy on top.

I choose LNP. I see all of ya'll reasonings, but I guess nothing bores me more than just laying there doing nothing.

I choose Lay 'n Pray, because at least when they're standing there a chance of someone landing a bomb, plus when someone's been laying around for most of the fight it generally means they aren't going to try for the finish

Lay and Pray.
Id watch a stand and dance like Vera and Sylvia over Sherk laying on someone for a half hour any day of the week.
Just for the simple fact in a fight like Vera/Sylvia even though no one is really engaging, you know at any moment one can land a fight ending shot. Whereas in 90% of someone like Sherks fights, you know hes just going to shoot on someone, lay, and get stood up,then repeat for 25 minutes.

i choose lay'n'pray, althought both are pretty boring.but lay'n'pray is just the worst.
s&d most of the time turns around quicker than lnp.when they are using lnp it lasts much longer than s&d.

Sylvia/Vera was more of a slow dance with all the clinching.
I choose stand and dance as the more boring. At least with lay and pray someone's trying to win (albeit by judges' decision) while stand and dance you get guys with limited striking trying to appease the UFC's preference for more stand up exchanges - with neither getting ahead on the score cards..
