somebody said on another site that barnett wins by decision over cro cop, although i doubt it since cro cop beat barnett twice easily. but damm that kick looks nice and i was surprised to hear that barnet beat nog, all my predictions r wronge. i predicted 1st eaither nog vs. wand or nog vs. cro cop. poor wand its a bunch of bs that he lost. barnett very impressive.

CroCop punched Barnett in the eye on the ground and Josh tapped out.

Only one fight going out of the first round. I can't wait to actually watch this event.

Considering Mirko was 5 lbs lighter than Silva at the weigh ins I would think that fight would be possible. I could be wrong but I would love to see it happen.

I wouldn't say that I'm a Cro Cop fan, but it is awsome that he bounced back from his loss to Hunt and his almost leaving Pride to come back and take the whole OWGP. He was Fedor's biggest challenge to date and even better is that alot people wrote him off. I wonder if Josh was worried about permanent injury from getting hit by Cro.

I like Chuck a lot but he would get creamed by Mirko. It would be an odd matchup considering that neither guy ever pushes the pace standing. Both wait and/or counter-punch. Still, Wand is prob not used to getting by heavies and is usually not so heavy. Chuck has also never faced someone who hits so hard and would be giving quite a bit of weight.

Default PRIDE OWGP (spoilers) discussion

Mirko def. Wanderlei (left high kick)
Barnett def. Nogueira (split decision)

A. Emelianenko def. Kharitonov (TKO, referee stoppage)

Mirko def. Barnett (submission, strikes)

Mirko: OWGP champion

Those are just the tournament related results, I didn't post the others.

Who thinks Nogueira was robbed? I think PRIDE judges did this more to avoid another "Ricco Rodriguez" issue, but I'm just glad it was a split decision. Although Nogueira showed SUPERIOR grappling and submissions, Barnett, I supposed, tried to finish the fight with that failed kneebar at the bell.

Kharitonov VS Aleksander
Who saw this? Sergei was getting the better of the striking exchanges on the feet, even though Aleksander was as usual pretty damn fast with his hands. Sergei knocked him down once, and took mount, which Aleksander eventually got out of. But moments later, on their feet, Aleksander took him down, with Sergei on his knees, Aleksander just pounded away and kneed, and the referee had to stop it. Sergei looked incredulous, he raised his hands in awe at the stoppage.

Now I know deep in my heart that Sergei wasn't hurting that bad, but that the ref had no other choice to stop it. I guess Sergei, and I, are too frustrated at the fact that he was dominating Aleksander up until that point.

DAMN it I wish Sergei won that fight, he was doing well up until that crucial point.

Mirko, by the way, I am feeling good for this guy. He has finally gotten a belt, after his K-1 days, and after his Fedor loss. Now he has a belt, it was his 32nd birthday, and he gets to rematch Fedor on New Year's.

Discuss! (Kharitonov, Nogueira, Mirko's belt)

Haha, but I forgot to talk about this: Mirko dominated Wanderlei! His straight lefts, and his left mid kick and his KO left high kick were amazing. He has really improved his GNP, that's how he damaged Wanderlei AND how he beat Barnett.

nobody is questioning if he can make lhw, it was ovious that he could, cause he didnt even cut at all and weighed 223 but he came in at 220 for this fight and that was surprizing and wand is 5'11 and 225 and is pritty muscular and a good 205 fighter and isnt cro cop like 6'3? and is a pritty muscular guy too althogh not a much as wand, but if he just beats liddell then i cant see anybody beat cro cop at 205. he would thrive there and he does good at hw but there is always fedor and nog there to stop him. and talk about a good ppv. not only the owgp which will be remembered for a long time but u get to see shogun, arona, and alex vs. sergey. that is awesome to see alex win and he should get a rematch with cro cop for a #1 contenders fight. i would love to see alex beat cro cop and then go on to beat his brother and then see fedor and cro cop go down to 205 at the ufc which is a fat chance but isnt impossible, i was just saying how cro cop would waste everybody at 205 but what if fedor when down to 205 as well. cro cop looks like he weighs more then 220 he is 6'3 and has got some muscle, he would look huge at lhw even thought he could easily make weight, he must have a very very low # of body fat.
