I personally feel that attending an MMA show live is far more exciting then watching on PPV - watching in person gives you a whole new appreciation for the physicality.
On tv lying in one's guard looks like they're stalling. But seeing it live you notice things like one guy pressing his elbow down on the other's face. Or the guy on bottom digging his heel in the top guy's ribs.
But for those who can only get nose bleed seats, I'd like to assure you that you're forced to look at the big screen even if you're sitting front row. Once the fight hits the ground it's very hard to tell what's going on if you're watching at eye level.
