Titles get stripped away, happened to matt serra over an injury and can and should happen if a champion does t want to resign a new contract this is a sticking point as in why fedor didnt want to sign with the UFC |
Matt Serra didn't get stripped, Sherk did though, what planet do you live on man? j/k

I'm not going to hate on Fedor.
I still maintain that we, as MMA FANS, may not see the full picture of what's going on, thus I won't pass judgment the same as I won't with Randy/UFC.
Fedor has beaten so many legitimate top names...what happens when he retires? Do we call him a pussy for giving up?
The guy has proven himself IMHO and has other goals and priorities rather than accepting all of the terms the UFC requires. Not such a bad thing.

"Oh no he's not in the UFC, I'm going to take him down a notch in my P4P list/HW list!! He's ducking fighters!" People are going to hold it against him until they're blue in the face. Same old shit. Can't even discuss anything about Fedor without the thread devolving into this business side dogshit over and over. I support Fedor regardless of what anyone on here or out has to say. Quote: |

What if he decides he wants to focus on Sambo comps and other activities?
Will you berate him for that?

Will you berate him for that? | If you want to be called the KING of mma you have to fight legit competition. As of right now Fedor is the best but sooner or later he has to fight a legit competitor. When was his last REAL fight anyway...?

Does this mean he has to fight and win forever?
If he retires tomorrow undefeated, what will people say then? He didn't fight enough opponents?

The dude is the best right now and if he retired today he would be considered the best....BUT hes not retired , he hasnt had a real fight for some time and he still wants to be number 1.....and to be number one ya gotta fight top competition.

However, he isn't fighting right now and according to him, has no home so to speak. He says he has nothing more to prove because he's beaten everyone except Fedor. Does the fact he hasn't fought in months and probably won't for a another few detract from his greatness?
I use this as an example because many tend to see things differently when it comes to Randy.
I don't think Fedor gives a crap one way or the other whether or not we or anyone else think he is "The Best". That's because he has all ready PROVEN it by beating everyone there was to beat or the most part.
The fact he is focusing on what is important to HIM rather then bowing down to the UFC to make one fight happen actually makes me respect him even more. The ability to control one's own destiny makes for greatness as far as I'm concerned.
