What next Gomi's Book of Submission Defense.
Hughes is still by far the most dominant WW of all time by a long shot.

And Gomi is actually not bad at submission defense. I don't know if you watched the fight but Diaz hurt him with strikes which opened up for a submission. Besides, it's not like Nick Diaz is just an ordinary BJJ fighter.

I wouldn't consider Randy to be the best, I think his record of 16-8-0 (don't kill me if my numbers are wrong)is far from the best. And for him to say he's beaten everyone is just pure shit, he's beat Maurice Smith, Kevin Randleman, Pedro Rizzo, Tim Sylvia and Gabriel Gonzaga at heaveyweight. So that leaves Cro-cop, Barnett, Big Nog, Arlovski and Brock (joking, Brock would get destroyed by Randy at this early stage).

Point being, there are still great fighters that Randy hasn't fought yet and to say Fedor is the only worthy opponent is very disrespectful to those guys.

That was a bit off topic I know, but sticking with this thread, Fedors book can't give any secrects away, or every MMA fighter would buy it and all be as good as Fedor, and he wouldn't want that.

The fact he is focusing on what is important to HIM rather then bowing down to the UFC to make one fight happen actually makes me respect him even more. The ability to control one's own destiny makes for greatness as far as I'm concerned.
If he's proven that he is the best, then why does he take sideshow fights against amateurs? You couldn't really see that in other combat sports. You don't see it in boxing, you don't see it in the UFC, and it is a bit ridiculous. He opens himself up to criticism when he fights someone with only one MMA fight and yet is still considered as #1 in the world. I heard his next fight is going to be against Tommy Speer. His new contract appears to give him almost complete freedom to fight who he wants, so the question is, why doesn't he fight someone of merit and proven skill?

Stating a fact is not berating someone. As far as I know he signed his new contract to keep fighting. Maybe you have another understanding?

I honestly don't know many of the details of Fedor and the situation with M-1 but I imagine part of his interests lie with building M-1 up into an organization that can compete with the UFC (and maybe get some of that mystique back that we had with Pride). If Fedor wants to fight lower level guys than that's his business. I imagine he's fighting who he's fighting because most of the top MMA HW's are in the UFC at this point. Would love to see M-1 pick up Josh Barnett to at least settle that particular dream match once and for all.

Not being able to hand pick his opponents IE: the right to refuse legit contenders.

Has anyone ever wondered why Pride had a fairly deep roster, but only two champions for most of its existance?
