i would like to see him stay a ww, if only for the rematch with bj, i just think he would go from ruling a divison to being a small fish at mw, having great fights winning a couple but not ever able to win the title. but him vs evan tanner in shape would be awesome.

Where were all you "GSP is a huge WW" guys when I was saying he shouldn't be #1 p4p based on beating a bunch of guys smaller than him?
You can't really have it both ways, can you?

If GSP beats Serra, Fitch, and whoever else they throw at him in the next two or two and half years, I see no problem with him moving to middleweight. He's not exceptionally tall...no taller than I am...but he can afford to put on a good deal of muscle mass, and has the outright skill to take out most of the MW division even now.
GSP > all the UFC MWs except Silva, Hendo, and probably Franklin. Two years down the road, I can see him possibly beating them.
Mind you, I won't take him seriously on all this until he defends that WW belt at least five or six times.

Maybe GSP can move up, but I agree he should just worry about taking care of business in the WW division. Once he dominates the WW division then move.
If he does that then who knows. He is young and with his training habits he going to get better. I could see him trying in a couple of years and by that time there is no idea what the MW division will be like.
If he does it before then I do not think he will be able to handle the bigger fighters that have to cut to make MW.
GSP vs Silva ...... Silva
GSP vs Hendo.... Hendo
GSP vs Franklin...Franklin ( I think GSP has more skills, so GSP cld win)
GSP vs Wandy....Wandy (If he drops)
GSP vs Bisping....GSP

I think he could fair well at MW. But if he fought Silva and Hendo, he would loose.

i dont think he could handle any of the top 5 mw's,sure he is a very skillfull fighter, and im sure he would beat some of the mw's,but i think any top 5 mw would take him out brutally.because i still say he is to small to be a mw.he would have trouble stopping a big mw's takedowns
