I think that the thread starter needs to lay down and let a 240 lb fighter hammer fist the shit out of him and then ask himself if he would call the guy that just fucked him up a sissy. Then he will have his answer.

watch total elimination 2004, heath herring knocked out that japanese guy with hammers, final conflict 2005, shogun knocked out arona with hammers, but after a grazed stomp. but still finished with hammers. hammers are effective in mma. it's way better than poking someones eye (liddle) :grinsmile26:

If Takahashi got knocked out by hammerfists he must have one hell of a glass jaw. And as for Randleman's knockout of Crocop, if I remember correctly, it happened when they were on the feet not on the ground. I can't remember if he caught Crocop with a hook or a cross but it sure as heck wasn't a hammerfist. Crocop was out by the time he hit the ground.

You've been proven wrong about hammerfist strikes repeatedly by the guys posting here. Stop calling fighters sissys and look at the reality.

He was calling the way it looks sissy...i know the first time i saw it on tape i thought it looked wierd...but oh hell no would i call it sissy being hit like that in MMA.

You absolutely CAN generate knock out power with a hammer fist.... when used with a lot of power, it tends to be a telegraphed strike, thus more easily blocked strike however.

Hammerfists can be mean. In the UFC you might luck out and get a ref stoppage if you throw enough of them at an opponent on the ground. Not so much in PRIDE.

Keep up a good barrage of them, and your opponent will only focus on blocking, the guy throwing the hammerfists can generate openings as a result of the flurry.

y not so much in pride, infact ive seen more fights in pride end by hammerfist than in the ufc....
