wow i was just about to post this but you beat me. Here is the article for you guys that have problems clicking links lol... Quote:
Sources close to M-1 Global have confirmed that they received an offer from Art Of War to set up a fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Pedro Rizzo. M-1 was uninterested in the offer however and it was promptly rejected. No further details were given as to the reason.
Rizzo (16-7) is the current Art Of War heavyweight champion besting Jeff Monson via TKO this past September to win the title. He also holds notable wins over Mark Coleman, Dan Severn and Andrei Arlovski.
Fedor Emelianenko is considered by most MMA pundits to be the greatest heavyweight fighter on the planet. He has defeated a who's who of fighters while remaining virtually unbeaten. His list of notable victories runs deep and includes; Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (twice), Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Ricardo Arona, Matt Lindland and Mark Hunt.

Wow... that's pretty fucked up. Unless they pull an even bigger name out of their asses this is just going to add to the whinewagon.

I wonder if there will be any idiots who think Fedor "turned it down" because Fedor was scared of Rizzo....
Anyways, I dont think there are any MMA fighters out there who would turned down a fight when given to them. I am sure there are some exceptions maybe but I am sure any world class fighter would not turn down a fight because it is risky. The decision is prolly more due to financial reasons and also the fact that Rizzo-Fedor doesnt sound that interesting. Well, neither does Schilt i guess...bet..eh.. blah~

So Hong Man Choi is a worthy opponant but Rizzo isn't?
I haven't been impressed with Rizzo lately but still...
Is it time to drop Fedor from the top 10?....

Hasnt M-1 said before that theyre all for co-promotion??
Great move by them though. Id hate to have to sit through a sleeper like Fedor/Rizzo. Rizzo would actually cause problems for Fedor. We wouldnt want that now would we.
Hopefully we just see Fedor/Hong one more time.

M-1 probably thinks they're keeping Fedor free in case they somehow manage to finally get their hands on Randy somehow... but that's a big stretch. They just have too much money invested in Fedor to risk having him lose to Rizzo.

No problems with Schilt vs. Fedor. He better get the take down pretty quickly because standing with Schilt would possibly be recipe for disaster.
