I think his only weakness would be power. I can't see him having knockout power, but not everyone needs it. In my opinion the outcome of the Ultimate Fighter would have been the same whether Manny's injury happened or not. Now Nate just knows to go for a shoulder lock on that side. | I think Nick is better everywhere, occasionally. Nick is frustrating, because he doesn't bring his A game to every fight. And the fact that he seems to willing to eat shots in order to set up a repeat of the Robbie Lawler KO is killing him...his chin is his worst enemy...he's too tough to KO, but he's easy to outpoint when he's like that. I'd like Nick to take time off, get his scar tissue fixed, and find an inner balance. And stop KO hunting.
But Nate seems more focused and determined than Nick--kind of a "living in your older brother's shadow makes you work twice as hard" kind of thing. I've very impressed with him. And I agree that he would have eventually beaten Manny regardless. Nate showed the same calm composure under Manny that started this thread. Manny's shots weren't hurting him, it was just a matter of time, in my opinion. And now that the shoulder is exposed, I'd give it to Nate 8 out of 10.

I totally agree with you. Nate definately has the benefit of learning from his older brother, who I really like watching fight. I think he will definately be a force in LW. Like you said, being calm on the ground in those situations is a "golden ticket."

When I first saw nate on TUF I have to admit I was hatin I thought he was a punk. But after watchin the whole season and then seeing him fight and get better with every fight he might just be one of my fav. JJ fighters. The guy is always doing something in a fight and u have to respect that. His degree of calmness is somthing you cant teach. you could tell that in TUF competition. in his first fight he was gettin bombed on while on the bottom and just looked like it was another day at the office. He may not have punching power but he has heart for days, and mad jj skills. He is definetly great for the sport.

I dont care I think hes great, if the diaz brothers had a sponsorship with bongs.com Id order the their signature model. If arlovski has condemdepot.com give nate and nick bongs.com

yeah, Nate really impressed me against Alvin as well but I had a feeling the fight would go down like that. I coudln't believe the disrespect he was being shown from a lot of the writers predicting an Alvin win. His jiu-jitsu is just as good as Kenny Florian's if not better and Florian took care of Alvin easily, too.
Nate Diaz vs. Kurt Pellegrino makes the most sense for both fighters.

He has some of the best transitions and slickest subs in the ufc, but gets a little too careless with his positioning and that could cost against higher level opponents.
