After GSP stomps him then Hughes will have his way with him, Serra is a fluke and one punch wonder.
Now the argument with Fitch is that he's not experienced enough Hughes would out smart him. I really like Fitch though. | If you think Hughes would finish Serra, especially that easily, you are a classic victim of hero worship.
If Serra can avoid getting taken down too much, he'd own Hughes on the feet. Even when it went to the ground, Hughes still has to worry about the guard of the FIRST AMERICAN BLACK BELT UNDER RENZO FUCKIN' GRACIE.
And I'm sick of this "fluke punch" bullshit. I swing like an orangutan from GSP's nuts, but Serra picked his shots, used GSP's lack of head movement against him, caught him, then went in for the kill, simple as that.

theres absolutely no shame in losing to a guy like gsp (although i cant say the same if he were to lose to serra). gsp may be the most dominant welterweight today, but matt hughes will go down as the most dominant in history...the man tko'ed royce gracie for crying out loud!!!
after all the build up on the tuf 6 show, i pray serra loses so we can see the anticipated battle of the matts.

Hughes v. Serra = Serra wins
Hughes v. Fitch = Fitch wins
Hughes v. Kos = Hughes wins
Hughes v. Sanchez = Hughes wins
I would personally like to see Davis v. Hughes, I think that would be exciting. | the only one that can pull out a win form those four would be fitch. serra is an unproven overrated champ, hughs is a legend in the sport.

Always humble, and spoke the truth, he got whooped and whooped good, and some time off and a later comeback will be interesting. I definitely want to see him fight Serra, and then some possible match ups with Fitch, Karo, and Kos would be interesting to see. Of these three, the only one I could see beating Hughes would possibly be Fitch.

Serra hits hard and has good skills up or down. He just got lucky that night.
I would say the EXACT same thing if Travis Lutter somehow managed to knock out Silva with a haymaker when they fought (and if he had actually made weight). Silva and Lutter are worlds apart in skill, the same goes for GSP and Serra.

Silva and Lutter are worlds apart in skill, the same goes for GSP and Serra. | Most decent WWs, LWs or MWs would beat Royce now in a MMA fight; straight-up jiu-jitsu would be a different story. Comparing Royce's performance against Hughes to a Serra/Hughes fight makes absolutely no sense.
Go back and watch the GSP/Serra fight. Serra was fighting a very smart fight, doing his best to stay out of GSP's range, checking the leg kicks, and generally staying out of trouble till he was able, like I said, to take advantage of GSP's stationary noggin and pick his shots. Serra wasn't throwing wild shots, he was pretty accurate with most of his standup, which had improved significantly since even the Lytle fight.
Regarding Lutter, yeah even I'd agree with you there...but Lutter has virtually no standup, and has never really pretended to, barring the KO of Eastman. Serra trains with Ray Longo, an excellent standup coach, so I think we can assume that he knows what the fuck he's doing on the feet.
