MMAFightline: Have you spoken with Dana White lately about the possibility of returning to the UFC?
Frank Shamrock: No I haven’t’ talked to him for a while. I just don’t believe in what they’re doing unfortunately. You know, I’ve been there since the beginning and they’ve taken up a wonderful sport and made it bigger and they worked hard to start it, you know. But they erased anyone who wouldn’t support them or sign a contact with them. Basically you’re either with them or you’re against them. They took a big business approach to what I thought was an art form and I don’t know…it just didn’t jive well with me.

Well, I attribute it to standing by my brand. I’m a businessman and I’m honest about the things I want and the things I want to do. When you work for the UFC they control you. Anything and everything, they want to capitalize on you and make as much money as they can until their done with you. They’re not concerned about your legacy, they’re not concerned about your brand, there not concerned about your fan base. They’re concerned about their brand, their fan base. I’ve just been successful because I’m an honest person, you know. I do what I think is right, I represent myself well and I fight my heart out. And I think that’s what the fans what to see; someone that they can relate to and somebody that fights hard.
| I think that hits it right on the head, and encompasses a lot of fans that see the UFC as the only game in town for MMA--that if you aren't in the UFC, you suck. The business approach is working, but there are obviously going to be tremedously talented guys who don't fit into that model.
It also reminded me of the UFC changing Henderson's nickname.

I would have loved to see how good Frank could have gotten before he took all those years off. He still has good skills and I would love to see him against some of the Elite in the UFC. I would have liked to hear what he would have to say about the Henderson VS Silva fight.

| Many Thnx!
Many Thnx Guys, i was also suprize when i found this article b/c this is not the typical Frank Shamrock guy that we use to know lately...always talking shit, dry and doing some stupid video on You Tube occationally, just to take other ppl that he hates under his skin.
This reminds of Young Frank Shamrock way back in the 90's, who was Humble, Cool and still new in MMA Sport...i hope he keep his personalty this way and MMA Fanatics would respect and praise him forever, and i'm one of them.

On a side note this is how Frank supposedly really is I knew people that knew him when he was in AZ one degree of separation thing and no-one ever had anything bad to say about him. I think he does that other shit to sell and hype fights.

I used to watch F. Shamrock fight in the UFC, and remember thinking WOW. Then, he was gone. I hope UFC can learn and adjust their business model so talent's such as FShamrock, Fedor, Randy could enjoy being with the organization.
After this read, I like Frank Shamrock A LOT more...
can't wait to see him fight after is departure from UFC... its been long time, lets see if he still WOW's me.
