boone another thing you should look out for. please make people post sources when they post crap like this. this kinda thing is what sherdog is famous for.
there is no way either would agree to a joint ppv because no matter which way it came out it would hurt both. im sure theres a possibilty of a pride fighter or two coming over and maybe a ufc fighter in a gp or 2 but those are still longshots.

Yeah it took Tyson and Lewis for HBO and Showtime to team up, and they've been promoting boxing a lot longer than UFC and PRIDE has been promoting MMA events. And while people may want to see Fedor/Arlovski or Liddell/Silva or whoever else, it's not going to make 0.001% of the money Tyson-Lewis did, so there's no way the promotions would even consider going for an idea to do a full-out joint pay-per view.
I'll say if it's a rumor that isn't highly talked about, post a source. Most rumors everyone already kinda knows them especially if they're as big as something like a UFC vs. PRIDE show being talked about. I'm sure more than just the thread starter here would have caught wind of that "rumor".

if pride comes to the US and bcomes better known with the casual mma fans and develops a better market here in the US than i could a slim possiblity of a pride vs. ufc b/c that would make money and at the end of the day to them it's a business.

its doesnt make good business sense though because in the end it hurts one or the other in the long run. if pride establishes intself in america and then they have a joint ppv and pride dominates then the ufc is killed basically. if ufc dominates then pride in the usa is dead and if the ppv is international it hurts pride back home aswell. it real is a stupid move to get one big payday with the chance of killing your organization in the long run.

Unless it's like they agree to match their top guys versus the others jobbers. Like have Liddell fight a bum to make UFC's top guy look good, and have Fedor fight well...anyone from UFC's HW division to make him look good lol. Etc. Etc. It'll never happen though, so I don't even know why we're still talking about it.
