| Pride vs UFC rumors
There are rumors going around Japan and Las Vegas that there are talks between Pride and the UFC of possibly doing atleast 1 if not more ppv's. Its being said that they will have matches between the champions of each division and a fighter from each division-aside from the champions-will be put against a fighter from the other promotion. All these details were found in the Japanese media. There are also talks of doing a 16 man tournament to find the absolute best fighter, but then again these r rumors.

A torunament, like a grand prix contesting 8 of Pride's best and 8 of UFC's best would be amazing. I'm not sure if UFC would want to risk putting their champions at the risk of losing however.

i doubt it, theres too much bull**** talks in the whole co-federation thing between UFC and Pride. and seriously if Pride couldnt even get most of their champions (if any, havent seen Silva officially set for a fight) in their own GP i doubt they can pull off such a tournament

I agree with that. Getting these fighters to agree, all at the same time for a be all, end all tournament would take a lot of patience and a LOT of money.
In other words, it will probably never happen.

The magazine they had this stuff actually had pics of Dana meeting with the owner of Pride and had interviews with fighters from both Pride and UFC and in an interview with AA he called out Fedor and Fedor had some interesting words for both UFC and AA.

Interesting. If they can pull it off, I'll be first in line with a ticket. I'll believe it when I see it though.

actually lets entertain the idea, how would the payroll work? i mean Pride pays their fighters a much larger amount comparibly. wouldnt the UFC fighters be offended to be making so much less considering the pays stay the same

I would imagine everyone would have to make the same amount. If UFC matched up with Pride, I doubt it would matter much. Reason being: If they could get this to happen, they would make more money with this PPV then they would with any other event they could ever think of putting on. Any MMA fan that would miss this event would be absolutley insane.
Here's an even better question, who would be the 8 from Pride vs the 8 from UFC? I mean, if champions are not allowed, it would be tough to scetch. I also doubt they could do all of that in one PPV. A 16 man tournament, plus all of the champions going head to head?
