its ok because guys like you dont know anything about fighting, or fighters.
all you guys know is Joe Rogan and the UFC hype machine, maybe a little bit of Sherdog's FightFinder.

I think there are several UFC Lightweights thst would give Gomi a run and/or beat him.... After all.. Didn't Gomi get Sub'd by a stoned fighter recently in Nate Diaz?
Huerta
Griffin
Guida
Penn for sure
Sherk for sure
Stevenson
Florian
Fisher
Aurelio who already beat him
Souds like a lot of tough match ups in the UFC for Gomi...

Souds like a lot of tough match ups in the UFC for Gomi... | It only sounds like a lot of tough matchups if you base all your MMA math off of one fight and/or fightfinder.
Have you ever seen Gomi fight? I'm a big Diaz fan, but Gomi wasn't himself in that fight.
No way to half the guys you've listed get out of the second.
Sherk beats him for sure? Please.

Souds like a lot of tough match ups in the UFC for Gomi... | BJ Penn already destroyed him and would do it again.
Maybe Stevenson, and Edgar (which you didn't list).
but the rest? not so much.
A 'Maximus'-Gomi Rubbermatch would be interesting though.

Souds like a lot of tough match ups in the UFC for Gomi... | Nate Diaz has never fought Gomi. I think you're the one that's stoned. How can you have Huerta and Fisher on that list when Edgar isn't on it?

umm what i hate is how people dismiss the loss to diaz. "gomi wasnt himself..." "gomi didnt train..." did we ever think maybe it was diaz that did it all.

rh | Seen many Gomi fights and was a fan of PRIDE, but his most notable wins were Mach, Kawajiri, an Pulver IMO...
I think my list is pretty accurate, but we will never know since Gomi isn't going to fight the best any time soon...

I think my list is pretty accurate, but we will never know since Gomi isn't going to fight the best any time soon... | how is that? just because he isn't fighting in the ufc? i'm sorry but there are other top 10 lws that aren't in the ufc... as a matter of fact i'd rather see gomi fight in another org, just for the simple fact that he could face aoki, jz, hansen, mach, kawajiri, melendez, ishida, and ribiero... and probably more.
i mean even if you look at most lw rankings there are at most 3 lws from the ufc on there... so i dunno where you're getting this whole gomi isn't going to fight top comp is kinda sounding like you're just making guesses. this isn't the fedor complex here... |

There are plenty of good LW's in the world, not in the UFC that Gomi can fight. However I think what everyone "wanted" to see is what Gomi could do against the up and comers in the UFC. I really don't think Gomi is ducking any of the guys in the UFC, I just think he's more comfortable fighting in Japan where they'll love him regardless if he fights good competition or not.
