He could just talk shit about Tanner, but thats been done before, and it doesn't seem to have the same impact anymore. It seems like the new trend: If a fighter wants to market his next fight, he creates some BS beef with his opponent....its getting old fast. I mean look at fighters like Tito and Guillard....all they do is talk shit and no one really cares anymore because its predictable.

Saying what he did is actually pretty smart from a marketing standpoint. His comments are going to piss off the largest portion of the UFC's target audience: American viewers. More people are likely to tune in to see some American bashing fighter potentially get his ass kicked.

Honestly though, I also think something was lost in translation....it doesn't seem like his style. Even if it wasn't, then like someone else has already said, his comments have done thier job........just look at the response.

Okami had to mean something else. Attacking all American people is just stupid. Especially since hes gotten beat by Americans, anyway if he meant it the way it sounded then fuck you Okami. If not then I continue having no opinion about your boring ass fighting style.

If he did say it, its prolly only to hope he can generate some sort of hype for his upcoming fight. Being branded as one of the most boring fighters in the game, doing a little shit talking to his name out there is one of his only means to appeal to some fans. Also he must forget Tim getting his arm snapped and proceeding to try and fight. That bein said, i doubt okami actually said that. Doesnt seem his style.

i sure hope so because if he was trying to be offensive, there's A LOT of ignorant b.s. comments that an American (Tim) could throw back at him, but I dont think Tim has that kind of character. I hope he's better than that.

I honestly dont think that Okami said that word for word. It HAS to be something with the translation

Sylvia was winning the damn fight, it's not like he was looking for a way out. Maybe there was a surprise/shock factor to consider as it was a very quick (and awesome) transition, but I'd hardly call him a quitter over tapping to that choke. Nog caught him and that's the end of it.

Agreed on the translation issue - I don't believe Okami was purposely trash talking to hype the fight.
