Default Mark Hunt Signs with Hustle

Quote:
Reports from Japan indicate that heavyweight fighter Mark Hunt (5-3 in MMA)has signed with the Japanese-owned and operated Hustle promotion. Hustle has been described as the WWE of Japan and offers professional wrestling coupled with sports entertainment.

There was some speculation that Hunt would be fighting for the UFC, but with this new signing, it appears that those rumors have been squashed. Hunt’s last MMA fight occurred on December 31, 2006 against Fedor Emelianenko at PRIDE Shockwave 2006.

Hmm thats sad I thought Hunt could really make an impact in the US.

Fans would love his KO power as well as the fact that his chin can take more punishment than a brick wall. I reckon he'd fast become a fan favourite.

Ce'st la vie.

Hunt was already signing a contract in the UFC, but the problem is he can't make it down to 265 lbs...it's too much for him.

I'd really like to see that max weight at 285. It would make for some interesting fights in HW.

Hustle is nothing like WWE. Words cannot simply describe Hustle, where midgets and people in power ranger costumes roam free. It's the most bizarre thing in pro wrestling, and that's saying something.

Well thats strange lol, yeah Hustle is pretty crazy, nothing like WWE. I guess he must have really liked the company/crowd when he did that Hustle show a while back and decided to stick around.

They did describe it the WWE of Japan and by most western standards, Japan is pretty fucking bizarre in terms of entertainment.

The WWE comparison they were making was only to describe how it was the sports entertainment of Japan, whereas the other Japanese orgs pretty much stick to the old shoot style stiff wrestling, which focuses more on the wrestling than the entertainment. Hustle definitely focuses more on the entertainment so thats where they were using the WWE comparison i think, but Hustle is still far crazier than the WWE, hell they call it fighting opera lol.

This sucks.

It only lends credence to Dana's revisionist history that Hunt wasn't a top 10 HW when Fedor fought him...something Randy fanboys and Fedor haters are already lapping up.
