| If Chuck beats Shogun
Where does this put Chuck in terms of best LHW ever? To me he would draw comparisons to Matt Hughes who is widely regarded as the best WW ever (that can change based on GSP's career), but can't beat GSP.
Furthermore if Chuck beats Shogun, does Chuck earn the right to fight the winner of Griffin/Rampage? Or does he fight again in Sept. vs another highly touted LHW (like Machida) and then fight for the LHW belt in December provided that he wins all other fights in 08?

I think if chuck beats shogun it for sure puts him at greatest lhw of all time...with wins over great fighters like couture twice, ortiz twice, babalu twice, belfort, wandy and others if he beats shogun that puts him up there...wandy is the other name always mentioned as greatest lhw of all time and chuck beat him...also rua is also mentioned as the greatest lhw right now so if chuck beats him i think it puts him there...while haveing 2 losses to rampage is bad, if he beats rua than thats two guys who wooped rampage....
also if he beats rua,id give him a title shot after lyoto...or even have him fight llyoto for number one contender...

I think they need to stop coagulating the division with that damn TUF. Everytime they put a division champ in as a coach the divisions lose something because of the inertia. Rampage can't fight anyone until Forrest. Jardine is in Limbo, Machida is sort of in limbo too. It just makes for the division to be too top heavy and the rankings to be confusing. If they would just let the champ ight then we would see more fights with the champ. With this way of going about it, Chuck is going to get a rematch before Jardine. Say Chuck wins.....Jardine will probably have to fight Rampage to get in but then there is Machida waiting in the wings and oh yea Forrest is still up there...maybe fighting Wand, but still close and trying like hell to get back to a title shot. God forbid any new contenders get into the mix; we can easily miss some good possible title matches all for what? For TUF? Let Chris Leben be the coach, anyone else but a fighter ho has a title or who is in immediate title contention.

If he wins that fight, Chuck imo would go down as one of the best. I mean sure he lost to Rampage but beat Wandy and Shogun 2 guys that fucked up Rampage.
I think Chuck beats Shogun, and if Jardine wins his next fight that would set up their rematch an winner gets a title fight.
lol right on Chuckthechamp, i didn't even notice you said that about Wandy an Shogun until after i posted.
Also don't count out Tito in the Lyoto fight.

Rampage couldnt fight anyways until then as his hand was broken. So this was the best thing that could ever happen to his career.

No. Beating Shogun wont solidify him as the best IMO.
If he can beat Shogun, then try to avenge his lost against Jardine, then win the belt from either Rampage/Griffen,then yeah,Id put him at the top of the list. But just beating Shogun wont do it.

Sure Rampage beat him but could Rampage really be the best when he couldn't beat Wandy or Shogun. Thats saying Chuck beats Shogun.
I mean if Chuck does beat Shogun, he would have beaten Shogun, Wandy, Randy, Tito, Babalu, Vitor, also add in the fact that he holds the most Title defenses at lhw in the UFC at 5, specially if Chuck rematches an beats Jardine, it is going to be very hard imo for anyone to have that claim above Chuck.
Not saying Chuck is the best, but you can't really say anyone deserve it more then Chuck, or Chuck deserves it more then they do. To me its kind of a tie between a few people.

I'd say if he beats; Shogun then Jardine and maybe Machida, he is the #1 LHW ever.
