I don't really like diego by AJ is right, if Penn stated in an interview that GSP hadn't tried to do anything to him in their fight no one would bash him at all. Same thing here, Diego is right to be upset about those losses, there is nothing worse to a fighter then to lose a fight without even getting hurt. I feel for him, but I do think he is a strange dude.
If Diego went and trained at GSP's camp without GSP being ok with it everyone would be in quite a different mood about it.

I doubt GSP would give Diego the time of day let alone try and be the big 170 dog in "Diego's yard" |
that's just wrong....lol

what you are suggesting is that a title contender and top 5 WW, coming off the Riggs and Karo wins, brought GSP, the champion, into his camp
because that would be retarded. that would be forcing yourself into a corner, where you would have to fight a teammate to get a title. and most people would not do that. training partners sweat and bleed together, and one would not take another one's paycheck and belt away, just to have it himself.
and nobody say that "he could just avoid GSP." thats not how camps work, not for high level fighters and high level fights. to me, that just looks like a dick move on the part of Greg Jackson, for letting Georges come in.
Matt Serra knew better then to let that happen in his home gym, when he knew he was getting a title shot. Renzo asked GSP to stop coming to his gym to train, once Serra won TUF 4 and was getting a title shot.
and what happened then? fuckin GSP fans got butthurt about it and said Serra was being a dick, because everyone rides GSP's tip.
Matt was being smart, you never fucking let your trainer work with a possible future opponent, because he knows way too fuckin' much information about you. your style, habits, strengths, and weaknesses.
people just hate Diego and are blind to this shit, which is retarded. its a dick move, on the part of the new guy and the trainer, for a champion to start training at a contender's gym.
its not like the Shogun/Wandy thing, where Shogun started his career at that camp while Wanderlei was champion already.

Had he actually given training with GSP a chance he wouldn't have gotten bullied as hard as he did by Fitch.

Diego isn't and probably never will be "cool" for hardcore MMA fans to like. To each their own, I think he's one of the 15-20 most exciting fighters in any weight class in any org.

i wouldnt be surprised to see Diego win his next few fights to be honest. | Reps to ya my friend.... Finally an unbiased opinion. I agree... I think Diego probably fights at least 3 times this year, and wins them all... He will get back in contention. Training with Gracie will help him as well. I also think it sucked for him for the Jackson team to bring in GSP, when they had Diego on a roll, that had to be disheartening.
With all that said, I disagree with the bad mouthing of Fitch, Fitch won the fight, though Fitch was FAR from dominating in that fight, and I don't think anyone will say he was, unless they didn't see the fight, or are clueless about MMA... Fitch is a beast, and would love to see these guys go at it again..
Kos... He won due to the severe sickness Diego had, and looked like shit doing it... In fight number 3, Diego will destroy Kos!
Last but not least.... Diego is ONE STRANGE DUDE! But has had some amazing fights, and I hope to see some more out of him....

Fitch didn't beat anyone's ass that night. he won, but if you call that an assbeating, that sucks. | I agree with you man. If Diego would have won in the same manner that Fitch did, all the Diego haters in here would have been crying, " Diego won via lay n pray"... Whatever y'all.. Diego is a weird dude, but the man can rumble in the cage, and when healthy gives 110% in every fight! If ya don't like him... fine, but give the man some respect for his fighting! The man is very very good, is still young, and will continue to improve.... And he is banging a hotter chick than anyone else in this forum!

If you are going to get on someone for taking Diego's (and excuse me as I laugh, because how many top guys in the same weight class, train at the same camp all the time. Hell, another 2 in Greg Jackson's camp are Rashad and Jardine) "spot".. blame Greg Jackson for accepting GSP.. don't blame GSP for being accepted to a new camp when he needed one.
I am sure GSP wasn't even thinking about Diego when he wanted to find a new camp. GSP didn't do it in spite of Diego... it wasn't a "clever move" by GSP... he wanted a good camp.
Sounds to me like Diego was upset he wasn't the top WW at the camp anymore, and like he loses, he cried about it and took off.

Diego is a good fighter and would beat Kos if they fight again. Kos took him down and Diego had his back in like 10 seconds. The Fitch fight was really close. Diego fights hard and brought it to Fitch. Diego is just a little small in my opion for WW and thats why he has problems with these bigger stronger fighters. WoW I dont know why everyone has so much hate for the guy!!
