That being said, I'd like to see this fight somewhere down the road. I can't imagine it happening unless GSP loses to Serra.

IMO Hendo and Anderson would work GSP like a 2 dollar whore.

Not very well imo. Lytle is a solid fighter but imo some people have an inflated sense of his skill and potential right now bc of his last win. He ran right through Kyle Bradley as he should have bc Bradley really has no business facing UFC level competition. GSP is one of those rare fighters on that next level of competition. Like Penn, A. Silva, and Fedor. Barring a Serra like showing GSP mauls Lytle.

It's not like Trigg Hughes until Serra beats GSP again. We'll see what happens in Montreal.

i have thought about this since watching Lytle vs Thiago.
i already thought that if Thiago Alves stood up with GSP, that he would teach him what the fuck is up, and watching Lytle fuckin go buck wild with him, and win a lot of exchanges of the hands, made me reevaulate what i thought he was capable of.
i knew that he had good ground, because Hughes did nothing but hold, and he only does nothing against good grapplers, ala Sakurai, BJ, Hallman, Charuto.

GSP has never passed guard on a black belt in the UFC, so people who say 'GSP passes guard on good grapplers' must have watched some fights i havent seen, because first of all, GSP has fought 2 good grapplers, one of them laid him out, and he beat the other one, Karo by GnP from the guard, without passing frequently, or retaining any position he might have taken after passing for a second.

i think GSP can pretty easily take this fight, but i think everyone here would be surprised with how hard Lytle would make GSP work to hurt him, standing or on the ground. he always made the best guys work hard to beat him, but until lately, he wasnt pulling the trigger on everyone like he is now.

BC he destroyed a can in his last fight so that's the last impression they have of him.

Yeah it was. It was one punch that landed behind his ear that made GSP wobble around like the village drunk. Serra was then able to tee off because GSP had no sense of balance (which is what a shot to the cerebellum will do). Things like that can happen in a fight. Anyone can beat anyone in a given fight (to a certain degree). GSP is held to a higher level in the minds of MMA fans because he's beaten top competition at their own game. GSP is THE guy at 170 that the other fighters look at to gauge what championship level skill is. Intelligent fans know that one loss isn't enough information to move GSP out of that standard bearer spot. Even more intelligent fans know that one win isn't enough to move any fighter into the standard bearer spot.
