This last time around, in Novemember, they offered a 4 fight deal for about $14k per. That is still well below what established top 10 UFC WWs are getting. But, to come to UFCs defense, they did offer him a chance to be TUF contestant at one point.
Elite XC offered to pay Jake like a champion. How can anyone argue that?
Respect+Dollars = Long Term Deal
The only area that GSP is better at is the stand up game. Jake is one of the very best grapplers on the planet. Not many guys in the sport are great wrestlers and BJJ at once. Jake is. If / When a fight with GSP hit the ground, it wouldn't take long for Jake find a position to GnP or sub St.Pierre.
War SHIELDS | Could you imagine him fighting on TUF? that would be a massacre... Broken TUFfers flying all around.. LOL

Shields on TUF would be worse then Danzig's easy time of it.
but i see GSP sprawling and brawling on Shields all day, his wrestling is just so on lately, especially as tied into his MMA game. i see him using the jab to keep Jake away and make him uncomfortable standing so he might telegraph shots, making them much easier to stop.

GSP has fought plenty of wrestlers and done well, but has he ever faced a BJJ guy as nearly as good as Shields? Other than Serra, because he got KO'd before he could get subbed. | What about Penn. Penn has better BJJ then Jake.

That's what people do in interviews. So, maybe you should get "ur ass outta ur mouth and GSP's cock" and spare the rest of the board your bizzare homoerotic nonsense and weak text-message rendition of incoherent, fanboy ravings.
If the UFC had been willing to pay Sheilds what he was worth, he'd be fighting there today. An argument could just as easily be made that the UFC had already invested a lot of time and money into talent that they want to protect; and so they lowballed him to keep him out of the mix and protect their rising stars. That's just as likely of a scenario as him ducking anyone.
