i c it as he dint think ne1 would find it in the U.S., so when it was brought up, he said it wasn't how he meant it. How else could he mean that? i mean come on! and a perfect example against that is friggin tim sylvia waiting for his arm to be broken before they stopped the fight. he dint even tap

your quote is a translation. a lot of Japanese gets lost in translation.

I'm not doubting that Japanese can get lost in translation. I'm curious as to what may have gotten lost in the translation? I'm also curious as to how a translation added a comment about how quickly sylvia gave up?

I can see some of what Okami said being lost in translation, but i can't really see something else entirely being added into his comment after translation..i mean he either said it or he didnt, translation aside.

In all honesty, i dont really give a shit what Okami said. I'm an American, but that kind of stuff doesnt really bother me. What bothers me is when people completely dismiss the idea that he was indeed trying to be offensive, regardless or whether he said he didnt mean it to be offensive.

Okami made an offensive remark about an American fighter, and it pissed a lot of people off. Now that Okami realizes that ppl are pissed, he wants to go back and say "he didnt mean to offend anyone?" Fuck that, man..he's gotta have more sense then that. I know the Japanese are smarter than that.

There may be more to what he said that got lost....There could very well be things that he said that were lost in translation, but in the translated quote from Okami, I dont think there's anything in there that he DID NOT say

Edit: if any of you smart folks can understand Japanese, then why dont you speak up and tell us what he really said?

Like someone else said when the statement was first talked about on here...Okami never comes off to me to be a flashy, trash-talking type. Therefore, it never really came off to me as being a shot at Americans.
