| Kazuyuki Fujita Signs With World Victory Road (NO Opponent Has Yet Been Anounced) Quote:
World Victory Road on Tuesday announced that it has signed Pride veteran Kazuyuki Fujita. Plans call for him to fight on the promotion’s March 5 event in Tokyo entitled Sengoku.
Perhaps best know for his overhand right that put Fedor Emelianenko on queer street before succumbing to the Russian’s rear naked choke, Fujita is a strong fighter, with a strong wrestling base and huge punching power.
No opponent has yet been announced for his WVR debut, but with the recent signing of Josh Barnett to face Hidehiko Yoshida, Fujita is a strong addition to the promotion’s roster of heavyweights.
In related news, the previously announced bout between Phil Baroni and Sanae Kikuta was officially cancelled by WVR on Tuesday. The move follows Saturday’s announcement by EliteXC that Baroni had signed a multi-fight contract and would receive an immediate title shot in its sister promotion Icon Sport.
Sengoku Bouts
-Kazuo Misaki vs. Siyar Bahadurzada
-Hidehiko Yoshida vs. Josh Barnett
-Makoto Takimoto vs. Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos
Sengoku Participants
-Takanori Gomi
-Kazuyuki Fujita
-Sanae Kikuta
-Ryo Kawamura
-Fabricio Monteiro

Looks like this org is going to be the new Pride and not M1, hopefully they can work something to bring Fedor and put him against Barnett...

WVR has been looking like they have been making smart moves. I see quite a few of the Japanese fighters who are just too marketable to leave Japan going with them.

To bad would of loved to see Fujita in UFC. I think UFC in next few years is going to crumble

I have to say, I must agree with you, to an extent. I really think UFC has made a big mistake letting all these big names fall through the cracks like this. I'm not too sure about UFC crumbling, but definitely losing its stranglehold on the American MMA market. There's just too much good stuff flooding the market as of recently, unless they do something drastic. I can't wait to see Fujita back int the ring. Anybody know if WVR is going to use a ring? I haven't really heard anything about them at all.

They still have way too much market dominance for anybody to really compete equally with them. Quote:

I doubt their shows will be available in the US on PPV and it's even less likely they will be doing shows here. It's like Japanese baseball and MLB Baseball. Sure they are the same sport but they aren't truely competitors.

Good signing....WVR is good for MMA as a whole I am kind of getting fed up with what the UFC is doing to some fighters so this should be another option for fighters even if we dont get to see the shows on PPV in North America

I like how World Victory Road is shaping up. They are well on there way to being the #2 organization if they can keep the current fighters signed as well as bring in more names. Gomi, Barnett, Cyborg, Fujita, etc .... I like what I am seeing.
