crocop made up for that KO though, showing it was a lucky punch and tapping him out in 27 secs

he showed a lot of class and i want him to fight chuck so so bad, and im sick of people using his loss to cro cop aginst him in the liddell fight debate, the same thing would have happened to liddell, and wand will fight anybody anytime anywhere but its up to pride to make the fight happen and i doubt that they will, but i hope very much that they do cause that would be a sweet fight.

Silva is my absolute favorite fighter but against Cro Cop, I will always favor crocop to win. I'm not saying that Silva can't beat him, anything can happen. Silva can be more cautious and use more strategy, but CroCop is a pure striker, and even without the Belfort fight, I always thought that the guy who can truly give silva a beating (and not just hold him down to a virtual stalemate the way arona and ortiz did) is a guy who can strike well. Silva's style of fast looping punches is effective against most fighters, but against a world class striker it is a weakness. Silva's strategy is always to distract his opponents with "intimidation" flurries, get them off balance and then crack them with a couple of real punches with good leverage. Mirko is too seasoned to get intimidated by looping shots and he will shoot straight shots right through those type of punches the way he did against silva. I thought that it was a thing of beauty the way he set up silva with a few kicks to the ribcage. When he finally let go of his high kick silva didn't know whether to block high or low--he definitely saw it coming, and he had a fifty-fifty chance of stopping that kick. Chuck Liddell will definitely try to counter silva with a straight right, that's no secret. Silva has a much better chance against Liddell because they are about the same size and Liddell is not really known for having a KO kick.

The fight is up to Pride? No, no it's not. If it was, I'm sure it'd have probably happened by now, or have a date set.

It's a collaborative effort, this fight is neither the UFC's or Pride's sole responsibility. If both sides can't agree, nothing happens.

The UFC is the one who has a lot more to lose by making this fight happen, and making it not happen is an understandable business move by Dana White and Co. Not one I like, because I'd like to see the fight, but it's understandable.

Who has more to gain from this fight as far as a business goes? I'd say Pride, just because they haven't tapped into the American market yet, and dominating the known company's top guy would be an amazing way to get publicity for their show.

I honestly expect this fight will happen in early - mid 2007, once Dana White sees that Pride is in the USA to stay. Right now, the risk : reward ratio for UFC just isn't there to even risk Chuck losing this fight.

Remember, first and foremost, these are businesses. They're in this to make money. This fight is a better business opportunity for Pride, hands down.
