I fail to see how his comment could even be mistaken as racism, especially from a Brazilian fighter. South America has more jungle in it than Africa, anyway. Not to mention he was referring to Soko's "jungle kung fu" comment. Calling that comment racist is just being oversensitive imo

yeah i completely agree...i thought it was pretty funny. and the fact that its soko who uses the jungle theme just makes me think it wasnt racist but just a little joke to poke back at soko...

Its not racist Soko said before he practices kung fu from the jungle,thenhe got his ass kicked by Machida who has a Karate background.So Machida basically siad try karate not kung fu in the jungle. Soko said the whole jungle shit first,I believe I saw it in his FightSport interview last year(Summer)

All Soko said was he has no respect for Machida its not like hes saying he wants him to die in a plane crash. Leave the guy alone you think he would have made crappy comeback of some sort when all he said is he has no respect for him.

It's funny how one loss followed by one comment can completely crash a fighter's bandwagon. Before these 2 events, Sokoudjou was more or less dubbed the new savior of the lhw division.

For the record, I thought Machida's comment was disrespectful, especially considering he beat Sokoudjou with his Jiu-Jitsu, and not his Karate "prowess."

I used to be a pretty big fan of Machida, but since he's come to the UFC, in my opinion he has been less than impressive. He's won fights, and looked untouchable while doing it....but the thing is, in MMA, you have to make some contact sometimes. Machida is like Tim Sylvia minus the jab.

So he's elusive.....join the NFL, become a running back where that kind of thing is more practical and appreciated.
