| Haynes replacing Radach on IFL card
Josh Haynes to replace Benji Radach during IFL’s February show
February 12, 2008 By: Sam Caplan Category: IFL
The IFL announced Tuesday morning that middleweight Benji Radach will be unable to compete as scheduled vs. Leopoldo Serao during the IFL’s February 29 show in Las Vegas at the Orleans Center.
Former UFC competitor and light heavyweight semifinalist from the third season of “The Ultimate Fighter” Josh Haynes has been announced as Radach’s replacement.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity. I’ve wanted to fight for the IFL for a little while,” Haynes is quoted as saying in a press release issued by the IFL. “Ever since I left the UFC it’s been something I’ve wanted to do, and I think the matchup is fantastic. I love the opportunity to represent my gym. I’ve got a great camp and I think this guy is going to be unpleasantly surprised.”
Haynes will represent Xtreme Couture while Serao will be fighting for Mario Sperry’s World Class Fight Center in a best-of-three series between the two Vegas-based fight camps.
Radach, who made it all the way to the finals of the IFL’s middleweight World Grand Prix before losing to current champion Matt Horwich, sustained a neck injury during training.
Radach’s injury is the second major change to the card, which is scheduled to be televised on Mark Cuban’s HDNet. Tim Kennedy had been slated to fight Horwich for the IFL middleweight title but had to withdraw due to a military commitment. Ryan McGivern will instead challenge Horwich for the title.

Jesus, who's NOT training with Xtreme Couture nowadays? Randy could start his own org.
On topic, good to see Haynes still out there. I always liked the guy, but he obviously just wasn't quite on the level of UFC comp yet.
Rep'd btw.

Good luck to Haynes. He's got the heart; I hope he raised his game to match it.

He lost his last fight by TKO to Cedric Marks who ever that is.
Is he moving back up? Anyone know what his last two fights were at?
I like the guy, best wishes to him. | his last 2 fights were at 185 if i'm not mistaken. he faught cedric marks who is an 85er and john cornett who sherdog has listed @ 205 but i dotn see haynes fighting at that heavy of a weight class after competing @ 70.
i respect the guy because he brings it every fight and likes to throw leather but it really pains me to watch him fight at times. on occasion he looks crisp and on point but most of the time he looks like he just goes out there and closes his eyes and swings for the fences. best of luck to him, he's got great heart.

Hopefully he's rounded his game, cause what he's been doing isn't working. We've all heard about his back story w/ his son's illness, and you can see in his fights how inspired he is by that. Hopefully he's been equally as inspired while training the technical aspects of his game.
His heart is unquestionable, but if he wants to be taken seriously as a fighter and start taking home big checks, he needs to develop a lot more tools to take into the ring.

Rep'd btw. | In all fairness to him, he was in Xtreme Couture before most of the new guys. He was in Randy's gym during TUF 3 (Him and Ed Herman).
