I agree with a lot of fighters everyone else is mentioning, especially Frank Shamrock, BJ Penn, Fedor, GSP...
I think the UFC 30's-era Caol Uno was pretty well rounded too. I know he's not really a contender right now, but if you watch his BJ Penn and Jens Pulver fights, you'll see what I mean.
Also, the young Vitor Belfort was pretty well rounded. He destroyed guys with his punching, but there was also that fight against a BJJ guy, I think they were friends, so they only did BJJ, no striking. I was pretty impressed by Vitor in that fight. I guess that doesn't say anything about Vitor's *wrestling* skills tho...

Right now BJ Penn is the most well rounded fighter
guys like Ricardo Arona(From a techincal stand-point hes the best), Wandy, GSP, Anderson Silva.. all got complete games
in the past, Frank Shamrock, Bas Rutten, and Pele!

I think Gomi needs some more Ground skill before he is in this catagory his fight with Matt Sera at the ADCC last year really showed how much work he does need on the floor. I love him he is one of my favorate fighters but I still think he needs some more ground control.

If you wanna go real old school, the first truly well rounded fighter in my opinion was Don Frye.

Presently I would have to go with Fedor and Shogun.
In the past Don Frye.
