MONSON VS SYLVIA who wins?
 

I've have seen both these guys fight and I can't wait to see them bang. Who do you guys think will win this one. I am going with Sylvia not because I like him, but because of his reach, size and takedown defense. Arlovski exposed that Sylvia can be hit and knockdown. Monson is a beast but will the reach advantage of Sylvia be too much for him. If Monson gets Sylvia to the ground and keep him there he may have a chance. Sylvia may come in there too confident and get caught. If he gets past Monson, Sylvia needs to fight Vera (if Vera gets past Mir). I still would like to see Sylvia fight Mir to avenge the lost. I know alot of folks don't like big Tim, but you got to admit that he has some advantages that some heavyweights do not have but probably wished they had.

If the fight goes how it should go, tim should win by referee stoppage in the 2nd round...monson has a chance but not a good chance...then hopefully mir will beat vera and be in good shape again then snap sylvias arm again!

I think thats what you want to happen. But you know what will really happen. Monson will try to get inside and Sylvia will land 3 or 4 bombs right in his face and Monson will be KTFO. I really dont think Monson has a chance or deserves a title shot. Ok so he has what 16 fights in a row? Against who? Anthony Perry? Put him in the ring with Kongo or Vera, who I think are better then Monson.

Imo, Sylvia's punches will glance off the top of Monson's sweaty head. Monson will grab him, and maybe get him down. This pattern will repeat until he hits the deck and is subbed.

I can only see Sylvia ktfoing him if he practices his knees. We shall see I suppose... :confusedsmilie:

The reach is too much for monson...I think tim will do his best to keep him up and just bang...if he come in too close either a knee or high kick is coming right at him...i'll admit tho if he can get tim down he might have a chance to sub him.

I definately can see Monson subing Tim. I seriously doubt Monson is gonna be going toe 2 toe with a much taller Silvia. The only chance Silvia has is if he has great takedown defense, and good knees, or pulls off the guilotine choke, or very good timed punch while Monson is trying to shoot.

If monson gets him on the ground, it is over for sylvia. That is a big IF though. Standing up, he has to be quick and avoid sylvias follow up shots.
