Even if Randy doesnt get to fight Fedor, its about the principle here. Hes not going to back down and he believes he is right. Im not saying that he is, but I respect whatever Randy does.
I agree with everyone that wants him to come back and fight nog but everyone seriously needs to quit hating on couture
Randy Couture is a very smart and respectable person and like half a year ago everyone was trying to grab his nuts. Now that hes not fighting for the UFC, everyone hates him.
reverse bandwaggon? | I don't think that the Couture hate has a whole lot to do with him simply not fighting for the UFC anymore. Personally, it has more to do with the circumstances under which he went out...i.e. not fulfilling his contract, making obviously erroneous claims about said contract, etc.
I'm honestly still just confused about the whole thing, as it seems really out of character for Randy.

I'm honestly still just confused about the whole thing, as it seems really out of character for Randy. | I understand what you mean, but then again, if he was fighting for another company and he left to try to fight for the UFC, most people would be on his side saying let him come over to the ufc imo.
You are right about this being out of character though. Most of us know Randy for being a gentlemen and always mild mannered. I think some people are too quick to judge here
Even if randy is at fault here, everyone makes mistakes. Leave Randy alone (not aimed at you jlruthven)

I'm honestly still just confused about the whole thing, as it seems really out of character for Randy. | I agree, the hate is coming from his press conference where he straight lied to his fans. He also had a simple contract to fufill, he was coming off losses. Got a freebie chance at the belt and one fight after that he decided he had only one fighter worth him fighting. This completely discounted every single fighter in the UFC HW division, which isn't respectful at all.
I swear somebody has Randys ear, and they are the douche that came up with this crap.

edit: Also I dont think Randy intentionally lied to his fans. Do you think he really read his 5 million page contract.
If he knew all this BS that was going to come from this, I dont think he would have done it. But After all the shit dana has been saying and all the lawsuit threats, I think Randy is just too proud to back down now

I'm sorry, but Randy brought this all on himself by handling this in public. He resigned by fax for christs sake...

that being said i think he is dumb for doing all this.

He wants to challenge as a matter of pride it seems. Not the brightest decision. But given the past 5 months and his erratic behavior not much he could do would surprise me.
Down, down, down...Randy's going down.

is the 750,00 you are referring to the backstage "bonuses"? Because that isnt part of the contract I believe. It was just kinda the unwritten law that was understood i think
Who cares if randy faxxed it. No matter how he did it, it would have gone public. It's Randy Couture were talking about here. and he held the press conference because everyone wanted to know his reasoning.
I highly doubt that before everything went down, Randy was like, hey Im going to make sure everyone knows about this and that everyone on the internet is going to talk about me

If you were in Randy's position, what would you have done? UFC's contract is in such way that if you are a champ and keep winning fights, it is impossible for you to get out of it. Should Randy intentionally lose fights?
