| Tito Ortiz - Living the Lifestyle, or the Real Deal
To start it off, ive never really been a tito ortiz fan, but have grown to root for him. I still dont like him but im really hoping he could pull his career together, what tito is now, is just shades of what he was. At one point it seemed like tito was becoming more and more impressive as the days passed. Now it seems as though hes becoming crappier as the days pass.
I think tito has learnt to live the lifestyle of an mma athlete. As he is pretty much, the most popular mma fighter of all time. Tito was the poster boy of the sport when not many people were into it, and the fact that hes still here only added to his star power. Tito was a guy who everybody knew. Whenever i used to go to school and ask my friends oh you see ufc last nite, immediatley theyd ask if tito ortiz was fighting. I remember at ufc 73, i got several calls asking me about the tito fight.
However, as the years have passed it seems tito is forwarding his attention to the media rather than the cage. It seems as though tito is more known for licking jenna jamesons **** than being the one time p4p mma king. The fact that the most significant memory i have of tito in the past 6 months is watching his brithday party speaks for itself.
Ive also seen this change in his performance. Tito always boasted that he would never gas out after wat happened in the F.shamrock fight. In all of his latest performances that went the distance (vitor, forrest, evans), he completley gassed and each one of those decisions was controversial. Also in the rashad evans fight, when tito got guard, i thot it was over, elbows are coming, and he layed there, did nothing.... Tito has repeatedly failed to utilize his best tools, his gNp and his conditiong.
I really think tito could pull this out on Machida, but if he wants to, he has to take this shit seriously.... I think tito 100% is explosive enough to close that distance that nobody has been able to with machida and secure that takedown and work some gnp
Unlike other slumped fights like ricco and mir, tito has the work ethic in him, hes just caught up in the lifestyle...I really hope tito wins and stays in the UFC, not becuz i like him, but becuz i guess im an oldschooler lol.

I think what you're getting to is the fact that Tito doesn't have the passion for fighting that he once had because he makes more money outside of the ring then he does inside. Although I was always a Tito hater, I have to admit it was pretty impressive to see him defend the title like 5 straight times. Tito has obviously gone hollywood. I don't necessarily blame him but I don't think he has a career outside of the UFC, in my opinion.

Tito's 'career' is just fine. I'm betting he's making a lot more than he did from fighting.
His clothes stuff is doing great, he's been in tv and movie(s) was it more than one?
I don't think he has a problem right now at all. It's not hard to tell he left fighting a couple years ago. He's trying to be a businessman.
Good bad or neither, you can't hate on someone for cashing in on his fame.

Tito makes WAY more money outside the octagon than he does in it. Dana White has said he hasn't been focused on fighting as much as he used to, which is probably true. However we can't really fault him at this point, he's put in his dues and should be justly rewarded for carrying the sport through it's dark ages.

If he wants to be a businessman first and foremost, fair enough more power to him.
But still claiming to be a top rated world LHW fighter when ur putting in the below par performances he has of recent doesn't cut the mustard.
He could so easily be throwing that nasty ass'd GnP all over the place but he just seems to have lose that intensity we've seen before. I thought Chuck was gona be in the same boat after the Jardine fight but thankfully he pulled it back to fight Wandy with, he looked like the Chuck I remembered. I honestly hope I one day see the same from Tito.

I would like to see him get the passion back but he won't he thinks he should get a title shot because he was the champion 4 years ago. they're making chuck earn his shot again fighting Wand, Jardine and Shogun and probably someone else. You have to work for it Tito get over it.

Tito's complaining is obnoxious. If he wants to fight, then fight. If not, keep going on 2nd rate has-been "celebrity" reality shows. That will be impressive.

Tito is making piles more money now than he ever did fighting for the ufc.
And as for second rate? uhhh.. it was the number one show on TV.
You dont have to try so hard to hate him. Not hard enough to look silly at least.

You dont have to try so hard to hate him. Not hard enough to look silly at least. | I wasn't describing the shows ratings, but rather the caliber and/or currentness of the "celebrities": Omarosa, Stephen Baldwin, Marilu...etc. I'm not hating on Tito (or trying hard for that matter), he should make all the money he can. Remaining at the top level in professional MMA requires a different commitment than he seems to want to invest in at this point in his career, IMO. To win and be the best you have to be willing to risk taking a beating and he doesn't like to get hit, I would say. Is that silly of me?
