| (Report) EliteXC Apr. 26th: Nick Diaz vs. Muhsin Corbbrey Quote:
Graduation day has arrived for ShoXC prospect Muhsin Corbbrey, as Corbbrey has accepted a EliteXC bout against Nick Diaz for April 26 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The news comes from a source close to Corbbrey’s camp. It has not been confirmed whether Diaz has signed a bout agreement for the fight.
Corbbrey is 2-0 competing for EliteXC’s ShoXC: Elite Challenger Series franchise on SHOWTIME. He made his debut against “Lethal” Lee Gibson on July 27, winning via unanimous decision. His last bout was a comeback victory over Southshore Sportfighting’s Bobby McMaster during October’s ShoXC. After being dominated for much of the first round, Corbbrey rallied by catching McMaster in a guillotine choke and forcing him to tap with one second left in the round.
He has competed as a professional boxer and professional Muay Thai fighter. In addition to his vast standup experience, Corbbrey has successfully competed in several grappling tournaments such as NAGA and ISCF. He trains grappling and MMA with UFC lightweight contender Din Thomas while he works with John Blanken on his standup.

I used to hate Nick Diaz but somehow he has grown to be one of my favorite fighters to watch. I'm a little surprised that there were no consequences for his temper tantrum after the Noon's fight.
I hope he comes back and KO's Corbbrey in brutal fashion.
WAR DIAZ!!

speaking of Noons, who is he gunna fight next? i really dont care about Nick Diaz fighting a guy who is 2-0...should be a walk in the park for him, unless he gets cut again.

Corbbrey is only 2-0 in EliteXC, he is 6-2 overall.
As far as Noons goes, I'd like to see him fight Yves Edwards on this card. If not Yves then either Paul Daley or Eddie Alvarez.

While it may seem good to give him a tune-up fight, I'd rather see Nick fight a relative name in MMA.
It can't help fighting a relative unknown, in the fact that you can't learn much of that fighter's capabilities, and use this information accordingly in training, or even during the fight.
Not to mention the fact that the win means nothing other than a number change on his record.
I think everyone would rather see Diaz fight someone where we know where both fighters stand, have progressed, and where we'll have a good opinion of both AFTER the fight.
This fight's lose-lose for Diaz in that he beats somebody and it's nothing to speak of (unless he annihilates the guy (unlikely) or he loses and looks really bad for dropping 2 in a row, to less than spectacular fighters.

2-0 is false
Muhshin was a professional boxer, hes also a Muay Thai and BJJ fighter.. its not an easy fight for Nick Diaz to say the least, Muhshin is the better striker of the two and stronger.. its KJ Noons all over again, only worse cuz Muhshin would prolly fuck Noons up on the feet.
