Personally, I'm not ordering the fight if it does happen. If I sign a business contract I'm legal bound to honor it, To the letter. I don't have the cash or the famous name to just do what I want. I think what Randy is doing here is ridiculous. He has lied to his fans directly and has also stated he doesn't think there is any worthwhile competition in the UFC hw division. Both those things are disrespectful to the fans and the fighters.
I was a huge Randy fan, got crazy excited for the Sylvia fight. After all this I just don't care anymore. I hope he gets his ass kicked and karma bites him in the ass for this BS.
This isn't about whos right or wrong for me, its about keeping your word.

this is kinda dumb, Randy should have just honored his contract, got it over with, then went and did whatever it was he wanted to do after that...atleast then he'd still have my respect, and im sure there are others here who feel that way..

Why is everybody like "Cuban is rich, he will dominate the UFC because of that money"? The F brothers are just as rich, so why does everybody think that Cuban is some kind of god in everything? Is this just another form of wishful thinking gone nuts?

The man is a multi billionaire. Anyways doesnt matter, Zuffa will not sell.

This isn't about whos right or wrong for me, its about keeping your word. | By that measure you could say the UFC broke their word of "taking care" of Randy by refusing to give him any back room bonus for the Gonzaga win. If I worked for them and knew they could take away 30-40 percent of my salary (or however it may be for Couture) on a whim, I wouldn't want to go back either.
More on topic though, the point of these recent maneuverings appears to be to put the Zuffa team on their heels and shift the battlefield to Texas, which evidently is a more plantiff-friendly jurisdiction. Them going after the unreasonable term Zuffa is trying to hold over Couture was expected from the very beginning.

IMO... it doesn't matter to Cuban to make money off this fight. He needs it to legitimize his organization. If he can make it happen then he has other fighters on the card maybe Tito. And the next thing you know he's got legit promotion. He'll grow a following and he has enough money to put into a sport that is in a significant growth phase that he'll become a player because there is that opening. Cuban started this and he will not allow the UFC to finish it. That dude will spend the money and will be a player. Frankly I can't wait. The more competition the better the cards will have to be to justify PPV. The UFC won't have PPV cards w/o title fights. And they will have their champs fight more often. The UFC will cut back on the # of PPVs probably and up the quality. I say probably because it usually costs such a small fraction to put it on compared to the revenue it returns, so they may just do them anyway, because the average prize money for an event is about $500k total.(I said average, obviously if Chuck or someone is fighting that number goes up significantly)

I'm sorry, those back room bonus's are not written into the contract, and should go to fighters making 5,000$ a fight. Not the ones who are pulling in over a million per fight after PPV buys.
What I am getting out of this is that Couture didn't think he could win the coming fights. Maybe it is because his body is telling him it doesn't have much left. Maybe getting into the proper conditioning is becoming that much harder for him, so he wants to only have one more fight and then end his MMA career.
If that is the case he should of come out and said that, instead of saying it is not about money BUT they didnt give me a signing bonus (which it turns out the UFC did) and blah blah blah... Where it turns out it was all about money. In some respects I have lost respect for Couture as a person. I still respect him fully as a fighter, but as a person his credit has gone down a little.
