| MMA Weekly World MMA Rankings (February 20, 2008) Quote:
The latest MMAWeekly World MMA Rankings were released on Wednesday, February 20. This system ranks the top ten MMA fighters from all across the world in each of the six largest weight classes, as voted on by MMAWeekly.
We take into consideration a fighter's performance in addition to his win-loss record, head-to-head and common opponents, difficulty of opponents, and numerous other factors in what is the most comprehensive rankings system in the sport.
As always, fighters who are currently serving drug-related suspensions are not eligible for top ten consideration until they have fought one time after the completion of their suspension.
Fighters must also have competed within the past 12 months in order to be eligible for top ten consideration.

Those LW rankings are awful.
HW seems to be the only division I pretty much agree with.
EDIT: Wait a minute, where the hell is Josh Barnett in the HW rankings? Take Kongo off and slide Barnett into #4.

KID has not fought at 145 in a long time. his fight with Rani Yahya was at 135, and before that he spent a long time at 155.
i would be pissed if BJ was above number 5, IMO. who has he beaten at LW in the last 2 years? Jens Pulver and Joe Stevenson, neither of whom have been top 10 for some time, or ever in Joe's case.
even beating Sherk shouldnt give him the number 1 spot over the winner of the DREAMS GP, because that is 2 unranked and 1 maybe kind of ranked fighters, since Sherk has only had 2 fights at 155 ever.
but Gomi, even though hes my favorite, needs to get dropped. dude is fighting soon, but it has been over a year, that mandates a drop in rankings

too many to argue with, but at least fedor is still on top. how is gomi still #1, and shouldn't hendo be in a different weight class.

i dont see how shogun can be above hendo, hendo lost a close decision 2 rampage and shogun got beaten up by a non top 10, yet he is above hendo, i would swap them, rest of lhw looks ok,
hw looks ok 2 me, im happy josh barrnett is not 2nd or 3rd anymore although i would have him somewhere near 8 or 9th,
lw is a mess, how is bj 7th he should be 1st or 2nd
ww looks good
mw looks good

| Dude I'm pretty sure they fought at 145, not 135. He used to fight at 145 in Shooto, then went up to 155. This was his first fight at featherweight since Shooto. He deserves to be ranked in featherweight, esp. when people like Faber call him out. Quote: |

i wasnt sure about that, since KID can easily make 135, and Yahya fought his last one at 35.
