That would mean Abbott would be enshrined alongside Octagon pioneers such as Royce Gracie, Randy Couture, Dan Severn, Ken Shamrock and soon-to-be inductee, Mark Coleman.
uuuhhhh, i can see a certain reason for this but a 9 - 14 record isnt really HOF worthy IMO.

I guess it is more of a respect thing since Tank was there since around the beginning of the UFC and among some of the other pioneers. If it were based off pure skill or record alone then Tank would no way in hell be a candidate for the HOF.

I think he should be -- not based on his record, but based on some intangible combination of his being there from pretty early on, his iconic myth status (in the earlier days I read an article about him in US News and World Report ... no shit), and his persona as the consumate anytime/anyplace/anybody mentality.

When I saw Tank knock out John Matua,I really got into UFC,and ultimatly all of MMA.

Just because hes not that well rounded,or has a great record doesnt mean he doesnt deserve a spot in the HOF. At one time he was one of the most feared guys,and intimidating guys in the sport.

I hope Frye gets in as well. With the recent news of Coleman confirmed I see no reason for Frye to be left out. He is one of, if not the most deserving of the old schoolers who hasn't gotten in yet
