I thought you might be interested in what Josh Neer had to say after their recent fight. Below is Josh’s answer to, “What did Nick Diaz say to you after the fight.” “He told me after the fight he was sorry for talking shit, and I was a tough SOB. At the beginning of the third round he said you’re a tough mofo, or something like that, when we went to touch gloves. I’m not big on touching gloves but I think when you beat each other up for a couple of rounds….you should then show respect and touch gloves. Nick was a tough fighter; there are no hard feelings for him talking shit before or during the fight. He was just being himself, and I respect that. He was very respectful after the fight.” Matt Hughes Interview with 60 Minutes I hadn’t noticed this information on our forum, so thought you would be interested. This past Thursday and Friday 60 minutes came to Iowa to film Matt’s training and then went to his home in Hillsboro to film his family life on the farm. Apparently, the interview went well and the reporter, Scott Pelley, seemed genuine in his interest, and not out to bash Matt. The interview is supposed to air in November. IMO, Matt is a good choice to represent the UFC/MMA to the mainstream, but I’m pretty distrustful of the media. I hope they treat this subject fairly, but I’m not confident. |
People are hard on Nick Diaz for no reason, he talks shit because its apart of fighting! hands down if you dont like it oh well. Ali was the KING OF TRASH TALKING, and he was great! and he is also one of the classiest men alive right now. Michael Jordan omg the stories people dont know about him! He threw away Ron Harpers food cuz he had a bad game, he sent Steve Kerr to the hospital for the same reason. Biggest trash talker on the court too, great and humble person regardless. Nick Diaz isnt a bad person, hes respectful he talked shit about Diego but he said he had respect for him and I think its true, he says whats on his mind and theres nothin wrong with that, he doesnt do it for show he does it cuz its what he is.. a trash talker. I hope this interview works out for Hughes. It will be interesting to see what their angle on the piece is...whether it is a human interest story or concentrating on the UFC. |

I understand that shit-talking is a part of the fight game and I appreciate it when its done right. However when you lose to someone supremely better than you (Diaz/Sanchez) there is no reason to keep it up. That's when it borders on being a sore loser or poor sportsmanship. |
