| Roger Huerta Cast as Matador in 'Tekken' Quote:
Top UFC lightweight contender Roger Huerta will not compete until at least September 2008 to finish school and rest from a frantic five-fight 2007.
In the meantime, he’ll star as “Matador” in the upcoming feature film, “Tekken,” which is a popular old school video game. The release date is set for sometime in 2009.
Here’s the video trailer: | I hope he keeps training, if not his short year will turn out to be extremely long, we all know that after Guida he's not going to be fighting anymore cans for a while. BTW I checked imdb and Huerta isn't mentioned in there, but none of the actors really are.

Dammit, this is not the Huerta news story I wanted to read I wanted Huerta vs. Florian, Huerta vs. Edgar, etc.
Cannot wait to see whom he will fight in September. I hope he continues training and keeping himself in shape.

Either way video game movies are failures 9/10 times.

1. Awesome that there is a Tekken Movie
2. Huerta being in a movie is cool. I don't think this will destract him TOO much, considering he was planning on finishing school and such, I didn't see him fighting until Augustish anyway.
3. Looks like Chow-Yun Fat (sp?) as Heihachi, Jackie Chan? as Lei, and Christian Bayle as Bryan Fury as well..
Pretty damn cool.

All of his losses come close and art a break neck pace. Give him a few more fights and Huerta will be #1.... except maybe against Edgar... if he stays in shape.

Clay Guida is a solid fighter but he is highly overrated on these boards. Not top 20 lightweight and he was only there at one point becuase he beat an overrated Aurelio. A win over him should not get you a title shot not matter what magazine you have been on the cover of. Clay Guida is a gatekeeper, who is exciting and a cool dude but still a one dimensional fighter who doesn't finish fights. So far if you combine the records of all of Huerta's opponents in the UFC it is something like 3-12, and people want to see him fight for the title? I would say he is 3 fights away and all of them have to be legit contenders. Din Thomas got Jeremy Stephens after beating Guida, no way should Huerta get a title shot.

They would be hard fights. I'm gunning for him to fight Griffin and Edgar.
