2. It's not a matter of being money driven or not, to go to a foreign Country without your family to train and fight where people have no idea who you are or how to say your name (even though you may be very successful) has to be an extremely difficult feat. It's an issue of already having an established base of fans and fighting in an environment that's is comfortable to you. To discount money as a factor is silly, there are huge opportunities state side to make good money and to be sponsored or promoted or broad-casted nation-wide and internationally...
If you disagree with Dana's strategy or brash nature I understand that, I don't think he's in any position to insult fighters directly so things like "Fedor sucks" are out of line... but to argue that Fedor is not the greatest fighter ever or to dispute the rankings is something that Dana has a right to do, and can use to possibly egg Fedor into wanting to prove himself state side....
It's not the avenue I would pursue, but I still think Fedor would fight in the UFC in a heartbeat if he was managing himself... |
1. I really can't seeing Dana cross promote a fight in which one of the ufc heavyweights, and really it doesn't matter who it is for this agruement because Fedor would be favoured in a fight. They aren't going to want their champion to lose to Fedor because this means their are better fighters out their than the ufc. The ufc wants its fans to believe that every guy in the ufc are the best in the world, and a majority of fans i am sure do believe that. For the most part, yes they do have several of the best fighters in the world.
2. I was refering to when Jochim Hansen said something about Dana, about him only offering a lot of money and running his mouth, i can't remember off the top of my head what he said excatly. Also Dana was running his mouth about Josh Barnett, saying no one cares about Josh Barnett.
You said Dana says things to try and egg Fedor to come fight. This is the excat stuff i am talking about. Dana comes off as if he is 12. No not even about 10 i'd say. Nothing that Dana says is going to get anybody to come because Dana said they were too scared. lol that is extremly funny to me.
I do agree that the non american fighters have a harder time in the ufc, not because being away from their families but because of the fans. The fans are more inclinded to cheer for a american espeically if he is a local guy or a foriegin born fighter. For the most part, most guys don't train away from their families. They only spend about a 2 weeks at a time around fight time away from their families.
