Zuffa Requests Hearing on Couture Next Week
By Trent Cotney | February 22, 2008
As previously reported on MMAFightline.com, Zuffa scheduled its motion for preliminary injunction against Randy Couture on March 4, 2008. The motion seeks to prohibit Couture from engaging in activities which allegedly violate the non-compete in the employment contract between Zuffa and Couture.
On February 20, 2008, Zuffa’s attorney requested that the hearing be re-scheduled for February 25, 26 or 27th prior to Couture’s participation at the IFL event on February 29, 2008. As a result, if the Court grants the request, the decision on whether to grant the preliminary injunction may be made before the end of next week. Stay-tuned to MMAFightline for more exclusive coverage on the Zuffa-Couture lawsuit.

It's good to finally start to get past the opening bell in this, IMO. Any resolution will be better that the ridiculous drawn-out media fight we've been forced to endure.

how the fuck do you lose respect for couture, all he wants to do is coach his fighters, and RANDY IS NOT THE ONE FIGHTING, what he cant go to any mma events with HIS TEAMMATES? and another thing is 'i know its cliche' but all randy wants to do is fight the best fighter in the world, Fedor... dana doesnt wanna do it cause hes afraid he'll lose money if fedor beats all of his top heavyweight contenders.....this is just my opinion

I'm glad this process is being advanced. I've lost a ton of respect for Couture and I'm eager to see this process put to bed, so MMA as a whole can move forward.
