| Lyoto Machida will train with Anderson Silva, for preparation againts Tito Ortiz Quote:
With the fight against Tito Ortiz confirmed at UFC 85, Lyoto Machida told to TATAME’s site about his training and what he waits for the fight, that will be at May 24th at Las Vegas, United States. “I’m doing he basic training Jiu-Jitsu with gi, Karate with gi, as I used to do with my family, to do after the specific training for the fight. I’m thinking about doing Wrestling, but I’m only thinking yet”, told the carateca, that pretends training with Anderson Silva for the fight.
“He is at USA and as soon as his fight finishes we must contact him to do this first training at Black House at Rio de Janeiro or here. I let him focused at his fight, I don’t wanna disturb him”, said Lyoto, that bet on a Brazilian victory. “I believe a lot on Anderson Silva because he is a guy that dedicates a lot and is well prepared. He has a big arsenal. Without demereting Dan Henderson, that made a great history inside MMA, Anderson is in a great time and I believe that he has much more chances”, bet Lyoto, that believes that the best way to get out of the octagon with a victory is fighting stand. “Anderson beats really strong, thought, one punch well done is hard for Dan Henderson to get it. He can take a lot, but if one or two punches get in he’s capable to win the fight”, said.

I guess his striking will improve, but that's not really what he needs to worry about. Machida needs to train with somebody who's going to keep putting him on his back in training camp until he figures out how to defend it, because that's what Tito's going to do all night if he isn't prepared for it.
Much as I hate to say it, Tito could pull this one out. I'm still going with Lyoto, but there's a danger.

Tito has battled w/ chuck, who beat him 2x, and wrestlers like Couture and Rashaad(i still think rashaad won the fight) have given him fits in the past. he needs to work his guard if you ask me.

kinda getting depressed that hes only considering adding some wrestling. i want him to whoop Tito, even though i do still doubt Lyoto.
even though hes elusive, thats all Tito is going to be looking for, and with around a 20-30 pound weight advantage, he'll probably get it

Wow, if Machida picks up even a little bit of what Anderson can give him, it might just give him enough to beat Tito. I really believe Tito will pull this one out though because he's like a NFL player in his contract year, he's gonna perform at his best so he can get the money....from Elite XC or Mark Cuban

Tito beat him the first round, second round and Imo beat him the 3rd round too.
Sorry but taking someone down with little time left after losing the entire round does not win you that round.
So even with Rashad winning the 3rd Tito still won the first 2 rounds but with the point taken away, it become a draw. But no way in hell did Rashad win that fight.

Lyoto should be training with some very big wrestlers to get a feel for what its like when he faces Ortiz. I dont think hes ever fought as good a wrestler as Tito,or a guy as powerful as Tito.
Karate and striking isnt going to win him this fight.

If he going to be training with Anderson, don't the nog brothers do some training there as well, or am I mistaken? If I am not mistaken then that is some good bjj training right there.

I agree that Lyoto needs to train on his back, or keep working his takedown defense.
Tito won't have any chance (albeit there's always a small chance) of winning this on the feet.
It's just a shame that judges seem to score fights on the ground in favour of who's on top, even if the guy on his back is controlling the fight, attempting submissions and avoiding damage.
That needs to change.
I love Machida, and want to see him in the title picture, but my gut says Tito by lay n pray.
