Well, I think that he is somewhat justified in being a bit skeptical about whether or not EliteXC can get big enough numbers for CBS to be happy, but hes obviously completely full of it if he thinks that this deal is on the same level as IFL or HDNet accomplishments.

yeah. First off this isn't even an announcement that warrants ANY big hype. It's back of the house advertising shit and has nothign to do with MMA or the fighting.
what it does is show one of two things. 1. Dana hasn't been able to announce anything worth shit lately (which is clearly true) or 2. he's trying to throw anything he can out there in a desperate attempt to gain attention after what could be a devastating blow to viewership by eliteXC and CBS.
I think it's number 2.

“A year ago it was the (International Fight League). Where’s the IFL now? Last week it was Mark Cuban. Mark Cuban and HDNet don’t look as scary anymore do they?” said White. “It’s just another guy. They’re going to keep popping up left and right.”
He continued, “One of my theories is their numbers were declining and they weren’t pulling good numbers on Showtime, but they’re going to pull better numbers on CBS? When you jump to network, you better be powerful. Network numbers and cable numbers are completely different. They’ve got their work cut out for them.
“There’re a lot of guys with money trying to get into this business. There’s one company that knows how to do it. They keep coming and every press conference that I do over the last two years, I’ve got to hear about the next three letters that just jumped in and bought a cage.”
| Love him or hate him, Dana is pretty damn accurate in these statements. Also, Bud Light in no way needs the UFC as they are already very successful but it is cool that this merge has happened.
The Elite XC and CBS deal is great for MMA as well but Elite does have a lot of work cut out for them like was stated.

He's not mexican. He's part honduran and part swede.
His real name is Ned.
Re: the topic of bud light. Shitty beer. But Not as shitty as Budweiser which gives me a fucking headache after 2 beers.
I'll stick with either my ghetto brew Natty Ice, or when I can afford it I'll go w/ the imports.
domestic wise? Sam Adams is really niiice, becks, Heineken, Grolsch, german is just one of my more favorable brews.
Guiness sucks w/o Bass ale.
