This depends on who you ask. The truth? Joe is extremely jealous of comedians that make it bigger than him. it KILLS him that Mencia is popular. He did the exact same thing when Dane Cook blew up huge, and he did it earlier than that when Dennis leary got big. Anytime someone he's worked with leaves him in the dust it kills him.
Joe's got the UFC now. that's IT. he was dropped by his agent, and banned by the club when he threw his temper tantrum at the club he'd been playing for years. He had just lost Fear Factor a few months before that. So if you noticed, anytime he'd be on a talk show he'd mention a hundred times how he's so incredibly happy now doing this only thing he loves called the UFC. He's a really bitter dude about that. He's very good at covering it.
Mostly as the years have gone on, Joe is really pissed that he's still nowhere as a comedian. Now that he's lost the other two gravy trains, his home club and his agent it makes it pretty clear that he doesn't have much further to go.
His problem there is just that he needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut, which is actually mostly the reason for all the other things he's pissed about. he had an argument with a 20 year old kid from my space because the guy emailed joe and let him know he thought he was a tool. I mean he literally went back and forth with this kid, and it bugged him so much he even posted the entire thing on his blog. Which led to him being laughed at throughout most of the web.
Now, all that being said, Joe is a great commentator for the UFC. He's ebmarrassed himself and said some things he shouldn't have but who's going to say anything? Dana? Out of all the commentators I've ever seen, in any promotion, joe is better than all of them to me because he keeps everyone into the match. he lets people who don't know much learn by telling them what he's seeing and not just making stupid comments. When Joe says something about what's happening in a match 99 out of 100 times he's right. He also helps keep Goldberg shut up which is worth a medal by iteself. Anyway, as a commentator other than not being very professional he's as good as it gets getting people hyped and telling them what they're seeing.
So there. Is that enough? WAY too much actually.
