| Fitch gets next title shot, not Karo Fightlinker.com : your fight community
Oh man, somewhere right now there’s a very pissed off Armenian. News has just come out that Jon Fitch is next in line for a title shot, before some guy named Karo Parisyan. Of course, keep in mind that Dana White has a history of being an indian giver on title shots - remember when Werdum was next in line for the heavyweight title? Yeah, that lasted a whole week or two.
Perhaps King Dana went on the internets and read what everyone was saying, and changed his mind. If that’s the case, how about we all get together and let ourselves be heard: GIVE THE HEAT HIS FUCKING SHOT YOU BASTARD. I like Jon Fitch, but you take a look at the guys Karo has fought and the guys Fitch has fought and it’s not even debatable: Karo has fought the harder competition, and for the most part has looking fucking great doing it. If it wasn’t for his debatable decision loss to Diego Sanchez, he’d be the one on an insane streak. The guy is 8-1 since his loss to GSP back in 2004.
Anyways, I’m not blind to the reasoning. Karo’s record shows a big nasty list of decisions … the guy can’t finish a sandwich let alone a fight for some reason. But right up till the Chonan fight, that was 15 minutes of ass-kickery every time Parisyan stepped into the Octagon. The dude’s a bad ass, he’s got a win over the current champion, and he took GSP to a decision the first time they fought.
This is all so fucking frustrating to me. Karo Parisyan has been waiting for his title shot since the dawn of fucking time. Just give the dude his shot, already.
In the post-UFC 82 press conference, UFC President Dana White confirmed that Fitch would be next in line for a title shot once “this whole Matt Serra and Georges St. Pierre thing gets figured out.” Those two fighters headline an April 19 event in Canada.
I would like to Fitch vs. GSP next regardless of the title

Totally agree. Karo is in line and will probably be the next title shot after Fitch. Probably early next year. Unfortunatley he will have to fight 1-2 more times and win. Sucks but what do you do. Fitch/gsp or Fitch/Serra will be good matches either way.

Assuming GSP beats Serra, I am going to enjoy watching GSP hand Fitch his ass. I've taken a real disliking to this boring bandwagon favorite. Hand him his hat and push him to the end of the title line. Let others like Karo, Koscheck, Davis, Diego take one step closer in that title line.

I am so sick of the Karo vs. Fitch debate for the No. 1 contender spot I just don't give a shit anymore. I leaned more towards Karo deserving it, but there's a case for both. They SHOULD be fighting each other to decide who's next in line, but that's long since been decided otherwise. It would be too fucking funny if Fitch won the damn title then had his first defense against Karo.
Whatever...all this does is make Karo pissed yet look silly for dodging Fitch in the first place. As stated earlier, it also paints a better picture of Dana as "Maker of False Promises."

There are not many fighters I dislike but Fitch is one of them.

At least Fitch just keeps fighting til he gets what he deserves. It seems like Karo has taken to sitting back and whining. Karo just turns my stomach anymore. The "Armenien Temper" has just run its course with me. I'd love love love to see Fitch sub Karo.

Meh.
Not sure if I really agree with it,or disagree.Fitch beat some tough guys, but not nearly as many as Karo has. Fitch looked pretty shitty this past weekend against a relative nobody in MMA. While Karo looked equally shitty in a 3 round hug fest with Chonan. Im not a huge Fitch fan,and im not a fan of Karo at all. I think he's a crybaby, and talks to much shit.
Regardless of who gets what,if GSP beats Serra,he'd beat the holy shit outta both of em.

Karo: 7-1 last 8 UFC fights. 6 wins by decision, 1 by Sub.
Fitch has finished Burkman, who Karo decisioned. Fitch beat Diego, who beat Karo.

Bullshit.
Karo's last 8 fights:
Win Ryo Chonan (Win over current MW champion Anderson Silva)
Win Josh Burkman (Solid)
Win Drew Fickett (Wins over Koscheck, Florian and Neer)
Loss Diego Sanchez (Wins over Diaz, Florian and Koscheck)
Win Nick Thompson (Has won 18 out of his last 19 fights)
Win Matt Serra (Current WW Champion!)
Win Chris Lytle (Has fought Matt Serra and Matt Hughes recently)
Win Nick Diaz (Defeated the former #1 LW Takanori Gomi in 2007)
Fitches last 8 fights:
Win Chris Wilson (Solid)
Win Diego Sanchez (Wins over Diaz, Florian, Koscheck and Karo)
Win Roan Carneiro (Win over Clementi, has fought Silva and Chonan)
Win Luigi Fioravanti (Could be something down the line)
Win Kuniyoshi Hironaka (Wins over Diaz and Schultz)
Win Thiago Alves (Wins over Lytle and Davis)
Win Josh Burkman (Solid)
Win Brock Larson (Solid, 22-2)
You tell me who has the more impressive streak? Fitch has won all of his, Karo has won all but Diego, whom Fitch beat. But the loss to Diego is arguable. Karo has beaten the current WW champion. It's close but Karo deserves it because he has been at it for years and has already beaten Serra.
This is nothing new however, as Karo has been getting screwed out of a title shot since he got injured before it.

This is going to be a moot point after Alves beats Karo on the next UFN.
