thats exactly what i was thinking. winner of vera mir will fight for the title, then the next one will be the winner of kongo and whoever lost vera/mir. i think if we do get to see AA fight before then, it'll be against a heavyweight like dan christison and they'll talk about the guy like "he went the distance with former champ frank mir" and shit like that. i still think, despite back to back losses to sylvia, AA's the best hw UFC's got. i think vera could become that, but he hasn't been given that opportunity yet.

He's young, and he's very good so the sky is the limit right now for Vera. I think he still needs more time before he steps in the ring with Syliva or Liddell. But I could see him beating both of them in the future. But I think he will lose when he eventually fights Chieck Kongo or AA. It will just be too much too fast. But in a few years he will be one bad ass champion.

after brandon beats mir..they'll probably have mir arlovski..since that was a match up everyone was waiting to see(emphasis on was) really tho..there isnt anyone else for arlovski to fight but mir and vera..i agree that brandon should fight sylvia first..i would bet that brandon can beat andre..but if brandon lost..then what?? and does anyone really give a shit about monson vs sylvia..thats a mis match fight if i've ever seen one..monson is a beast in jiu jitsu..but he hasnt done anything impressive since he's been back..id like to see brandon fight paul buetello

I totally agree that he is the future, but I'm not sureif that future will be very soon. Don't get me wrong, I am a big Vera fan, and i like what he does in the ring. The question is if he's ready as of yet for the likes of AA. Now even Mir worries me. If Mir comes back as the old Mir against Vera, then there will be some trouble. As for AA, I think AA would take Vera out. AA is still the same man he was last year. Two losses against Silvia isn't that bad. AA is an animal and he is more hungry than ever now.

no one in the ufc can kick as strong or as accurately as brandon..and lloyd irvin is one of the best bjj coaches ever..i dont think arlovski has lost a step..i think he has been exposed tho..he leans in when he throws the right straight and leaves himself open for an uppercut every time..i saw that knock down coming a mile away in sylvia arlovski 2..whats worse is if he throws that punch at brandon..he's gonna catch a knee..wich i can assure you is gonna be worse than an uppercut from sylvia..and i think mir is through..i think they should have had brandon fight buentello..that would have been a more exciting fight..

Saw him at UFC 62. He looked to be in much better shape. Word is he's lost at least 25 pounds. Mir at 235-240 is a good thing.

If Vera fights one more person before he goes for the title, then that might be 6 months or so before a title shot. From what I have heard Vera advances alot between every fight he has. there might be a good chance that in a half a year from now Vera might be a different fighter already. I personally would rather see him give it two more fights after Mir, before he gets a title shot. Maybe Vera HW Champ late 2007..?
