| Dana White walked out during Arlovski's Fight (and more)
This was interesting.. I am sure this will lead to some interesting posts Quote: |
UFC 82, Dana White arrived in the arena and took his seat Octagon-side during the middle of Jorge Gurgel's fight with John Halverson. He remained in attendance for just about every fight, but there was one in particular where his presence was noticeably absent. Shortly before Andrei Arlovski's fight with Jake O'Brien, White conveniently left Octagon-side for the duration of the bout. Ouch! At the conclusion of the fight, Joe Rogan didn't bother to give Arlovski a post-fight interview. Double ouch! White returned to his seat minutes after the fight concluded. Given Arlovski's treatment at the event, it doesn't seem like Dana is anxious to keep him around. Whether or not Arlovski will extend his UFC contract when it expires in April remains to be seen. Given his mood when he returned to the hotel, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Business may have called... but that seems a little weird...
At the same time.. this article seems like it is being misleading with whether or not Dana left during portions of other fights.. take it with a grain of salt, I guess.
ADD: Here is the rest of the article BTW Quote:
As has widely been reported, the father of "ground and pound" and the first ever UFC heavyweight champion Mark Coleman was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on Saturday night. Shortly afterwards, it was revealed that he would be making his return to the Octagon as Brock Lesnar's next opponent in August. Isn't that kind of like a backhanded compliment? It's like saying, "hey, thanks for all you did, now if you don't mind, we'd like to serve you up on a platter for our next big star." I guess that shouldn't be too shocking though as this seems to be the trend for validating stars in the UFC. Lesnar gets Coleman, Matt Hughes got Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock was served up to Tito Ortiz. Heck, Shamrock was so tasty, Tito went back for a second and third helping. After Couture's two losses to Chuck Liddell, they were probably hoping that The Natural would be the perfect dish to serve up to Tim Sylvia, but that plan sort of backfired. The only UFC Hall of Fame inductee to escape this popular trend is Dan Severn, but something tells me that if Coleman can somehow pull out the win (which is a longshot since it's hard to believe that Joe Silva would actually want to give Lesnar a SECOND loss after losing to Frank Mir), then Severn just might get his chance to make a decent payday after all.
Speaking of paydays...SHOW ME THE MONEY is what Anderson Silva should be screaming. After another impressive and dominant victory, it's becoming difficult for anyone to disagree with the fact that Silva is the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet. If Dana is going to keep promoting that fact, the least he can do is show him some respect and pay him what he's worth. If my boss kept talking about how good I was, I'd definitely expect some kind of compensation...and you would too! Fortunately, they just landed that great sponsorship deal with Bud Light so a little more money, at least as much as Brock Lesnar is making, shouldn't be too much of a problem...especially for the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet. |

This is starting to get like being in high school.
'Did you hear Dana didn't watch Andrei's fight?'
'Ya and he cheated on his math test.'

Like I guessed, I think Dana probably does this with fights all the time and Fighthype is looking for some hits |

Joe Rogan does not produce or direct UFC broadcasts. It is not up to him whether or not he interviews a fighter. Whatever instructions he gets in his headset, he follows.

The whole outrage about Matt Hughes laughing after GSP took a beatdown comes to mind.
I'm really, really glad my life is unimportant enough to aviod ridiculous levels of scrutiny.

I dont think it really matters one bit to AA considering he got $170,000. I think Dana should put AA in more top fights so we can see if he is still a true force in the division. But i wouldnt be surprised if Dana messes that up too. They used to promote him so much, but now its like he isnt even there, he should fight Nog for the title, in my opinion.

I think Dana is a real piece of shit for not having the AA fight be on live tv. When was the last time AA has had an unaired fight? Dana is a child that throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way. "Screw you guys, I'm going home".
