I just don't know how Angle could possibly be healthy enough all of a sudden to actually be considering this. He was pretty much destroyed just a month ago and now he is suddenly almost healthy, not sure if I buy into really being all that healthy suddenly.

He partially got fired because he was so injured he could barely compete and had to take pain killers to get through it and that was like 2 months ago. No way he is healthly enough. Also he will go straight ot a top promotion simply because of his age and he will bring in some buyrates for payperviews.
I doubt he enters into MMA.

Do we really need two threads for some old WWE douche who thinks he can compete in MMA? I don't wanna see him and would hate to see the UFC (or any other promotion) get more watered down for a turd like this to come in and try to compete. If it happens, I hope they toss him a can and he gets his ass kicked.

I hope they give him a good opponent but not top of the card guy to destroy him just to prove that he doesn't belong in MMA.

Come on guys!!! Why the hostility toward a true competiter??? This guy is DEFINITELY someone that has more than a WWE education here! I don't think he would dominate anyone in the heavyweight division by any means. Lets say he really tries to compete....1)could you imagine the attention this would bring to the card he was fighting in? 2)he would get beat by an actual top contender in the division. The only way I see this as being a bad thing is if he enters the UFC and destroys everyone and becomes champ. To be honest, I couldn't imagine that ever being a possibility!

I hope angle fights in mma. I've always wanted to see the guys who are faking it go up against a REAL fighter. If he wins he deserves to be there...if i were betting i'd say hes gonna get beat down.

You guys make good points. WWE guys take a HUGE professional risk by trying 'real' fighting. If they get highlight-reeled knocked out, their badass persona is knocked out also. I would guess they are not doing it for the money, but rather to validate some confidence or self-doubt issues. You gotta give them credit for having the balls to try real fighting. I don't have a lot of respect for the huge muscleheads who never competed in any of the mixed martial arts as an amateur and strut around on WWE like tough guys. Former pro wrestlers who x-over to MMA also have to deal with their opponent having the motivation to add a 'name' to their list of victims.
Has anyone seen Angle's Gold medal bout with Jadidi from Iran? Jadidi was a wrestling god in his country and Angle had every reason to quit in that bout, but he refused to lose. His character in WWE was a douche, but he stepped up in that bout, believe me. It was really something to see.
Personally, I don't think Angle will ever fight in the UFC. If this whole thread is not a hoax and he has really put the feelers out, his people might be doing it as a way to keep his name out there.
As for Lesnar, I think he fights in professional MMA and has some success. He was a 2 x D-I finalist, which will carry him pretty far, but getting hit in the face with those baby gloves is no fun and we will see if his heart is in it. I've heard the argument about him taking a face plant from the top rope or something like that, but the physics of getting hit in the face with a hand wrapped in a little leather and padding is different.

I don't think half the people actually realise this mans background. Too many people only know of him from WWE.
The man is a legend in the world of proper wrestling, not only does he hold a gold medal to his name but pretty much every title up to it and from what I hear still holds various college records that no1 has beaten in the last 20 years.
There are many great fighters out there with pure wrestling background Couture has been the prime example. What angle needs to pick up quickly is moderate striking ability, a good striking defence and Jitsu finishing. He already has the tie up, ground and take down defence skills needed to begin a career in MMA.
I very much doubt the man would be the kind of joke the likes of Sapp and Butterbean have been previously. Of course he isn't gona pop in and dominate all comers but with wrestling THAT GOOD he may tear through strikers with moderate ground game.

Kurt Angle is 5ft 10 inch's tall and he weighs around 240 pounds. And after the WWE did it's little 'Wellness Plan," Kurt Angle hasn't lost one pound so it's obvious he's not on steroids. In my opinion if he was on the juice his body would be in better condition so to speak because his muscle recovery time would be reduced and all that good(bad) stuff steriods do for you.
But as for whether or not I'd like to see Kurt Angle in the UFC? I think he would be best in middle weight since I believe that's where all his power would come in handy. Also Kurt Angle doesn't have any training in any submission style fighting. He just does the ankle lock because Vince Mcmahon wanted to continue with Ken Shamrocks character so to speak.
