I will say that Kurt Angle competing in MMA is good for the sport. That being said, I don't think its a great idea to automatically jump him up to UFC status yet. He needs to compete in a few of the smaller venues to get him started. After a few good showings, I think with his superior background in wrestling and good training in subs. , as well as standup, he'll be ready for a fight in Pride or UFC. I think that this would bring more fans to the sport as well. I really think that we need as many fans as possible. Hell, this has led to FSN and Spike to show MMA events and shows on cable. The more fans MMA has, the more shows we can see and the more new fighters will start training. So, to answer the question, if angle competes well in a few smaller venues and wins, I would love to see him in the big show!

Very well said. Time isn't on Angle's side though, which makes me think he will spend little if any time in the smaller shows... If he was younger I'd say he def. would though. I think he'll be alright just based on his outworldly wrestling ability.

Yeah, I know. I wouldn't imagine Angle would really want to start out in a smaller show either. Out of curiousity, does anyone know Angle's height and weight?? I would guess he is a heavyweight but not 100% sure.

well according to the article in the other thread he is a "solid 240." i believe he is 6'0" or around there...Depending on whether he uses steroids or not, he could either be a heavyweight or I could see him going down to 205 (WITHOUT steroids obviously).

Yeah, I read that about his weight and it fluctuating. I think it would be too late in the game for him to really be a contender for the belt though. I would imagine that he has very little skill in standup and submissions. Putting him in a match with a top heavyweight right now would be embarrassing for him.

he would definitely need to get himself with a top camp like what lesnar is doing. that way he could work on his stand-up and submission skills. and i would not want to see him fight a top heavyweight right away. as stated earlier, his chances of succeeding would be a lot better by starting off in smaller shows or by facing less-talented guys to start off. throw him in there against tank abbot!!!!!!!! a decent wrestler with crazy striking power. that'll be a test to see if Kurt is ready for the big-time.

There's an idea! Tank is well known in MMA and he is really on a downslide as of late. Imagine if Tank conected with one of those devastating punches.
