Riggs need to move up to Middle Weight to get some of his size back he just looks small as a welterweight big but small. I really dont see how one person remaining champ at a weight level kills the credibility of the weight class. WW is by far the most stacked weight division in the UFC right now with tons of quality fighters and numerous ones that deserve title shots in the near future. Does the fact that Fedor has mutilated all the Pride HWs make them any worse? No, in fact its the most talented group of fighters in any weight class, for any organization, in the world. Just because Hughes has been a great champ doesnt diminish the competition he has fought. Hes not top 3 P4p fighters in the world for nothin.

Why does the UFC have to build up its welterweight class? They have the best three in the world in Hughes, GSP, and Penn. Then add diego, karo, diaz, koscheck, riggs. Who does pride have at WW?

PRIDE doesn't have a 170 lb division. Welcome to MMA.

Koscheck vs. Hughes in a wrestling match would be good but Kosckeck is like hughes was when he first started an agressive wrestler he needs to train like matt did to become better.

Right now they could maybe be competitive early on ,but I agree they'd probably lose(with the exception of Karo I could see him pulling off an upset) ,but you have to understand that they're still very young and improving.Look at how me talented UFC WW's that are still in there 20s-Diaz,GSP,Karo,Diego,Koscheck,Riggs.These guys will all get better.The UFC WW division will always be stacked.It's not going anywhere.

I think people are overlooking the fact that in the UFC's TV audience distorted "title picture", Koscheck is a rising star, maybe only a rung below Sanchez to some people. We all know he isn't a real contender, but this is an MMA discussion forum, not a livingroom filled with Joe Blows who think the sport is called Ultimate Fighting. That being said, I hope they put on a Sanchez vs. Koscheck "eliminator" bout because I think that particular matchup is intriguing. Karo Parisyan vs. Nick Diaz 2 also makes a lot of sense at this point to sort out the upper middle part of the WW division.
